Is Ward really to blame for the fight happening at 168?

    Hell no

    1. Chad CALLED WARD out at 168
    2. They are fighting for the Super Middleweight titles, why in the world should it happen at 170?
    3. If Dawson wasn't confident he could make 168, he would have never accepted these terms.

If you want the titles, beat the champion at their weight.

I'm pretty sure if any of us was Ward, we'd deny the 170 as well.

    Dawson has his advantages too. height/arm length/experience + he's a Spaw

    This fight's fair to me.

So dragging someone down to your weight by 7lbs is OK, but meeting them in the middle and dragging them down by 1-2lbs is not ok.

Ward never called Chad out, though.

Chad called Ward out... the bout is for the super middlweight titles, not the lhw titles. The fight should be at 168.

    :huh

Ward is the SM champion. He SHOULD be fighting at that weight. What is the problem?

Chad called Ward out AT THAT weight.

Pretty sure Martinez called Pac out. So I guess its ok for Pac to drag him to 147, but if he chose to meet him at 152, he is a weight draining coward?

It doesn't matter who called who out, its not like Dawson will no longer be weight drained because he's the one that did the calling out :patsch

That said I dont give a ****. You agree to a weight, your trainer, nutrition & strength and conditioning man agreed to a weight, we would assume that you know wtf you are agreeing to and can handle it.

I'd rather see as fair a fight as possible than technicalities of what weight is official and what is not. If they meet at the middle, their both giving something up, the fight is more fair.

BTW Ward wins this fight easy. Too much class. I think Ward beats him at LHW, easy, he should try it, more credit and LHW belt.

I don't disagree with this, but the majority of the people pinning the blame on Ward is asinine.

It's not Ward's fault at all, as you said, Chad called him out. Still, doesn't mean its a fair fight. As much as people hate catchweights, a catchweight would be better here.

The fight is fair, Dawson wanted him at 168, Ward is putting his title at risk so it should be on his terms, and it is, if Dawson didn't like it or felt he was going to lose because of it he didn't have to agree.
