Calzaghe got quite chinny. Ward used his head too much-for every argument there is a counter and they are pointless as they dont change the above facts that they are the most talented in their division.
Ward will beat Froch (who is without doubt a warrior, just not as 'cute' as Ward in terms of tactics) anywhere, most people agree on this, but its easy to understand why we get sick of him refusing to travel.

The main difference between Ward and Calzaghe is in this era a super 6 was made,Ward wasnt tipped fave for it. If that had been made in Calzaghes era then we could maybe compare (Joe would not have been outright fave either and we can argue all day long about who wins that, obv including Jones, Hopkins, Calzaghe)

 

I'm not completely sold on Ward. He hits like a girl and goes low when required. But you cant blame him for wanting to wait before moving up in weight. Once a boxer goes up, it is very difficult to come back down. He can clear out SMW in particular rematch Kessler and Dirrell.

 

Don't tarnish us all with the same brush.

Ward ain't scared of moving up to LHW. He just wanted to clean out his division and have a couple defenses.

Wards best win in that is a Calzaghe leftover in Kessler, but lets look at it, then he fought Green as shown a lesser win than many of Calzaghes and who got KOd by old G Johnson who has lost to many of the previous SMW era, Bika, another Calzaghe leftover, Abraham on a run of 2 S6 losses, and then Froch coming off a Mdec over old Johnson, which is a nothing win.
In fact to tell you how the era has changed fro the worse. Froch comes into Ward off the back of beating old G Johnson by Mdec, when sheika came in to challenge Calzaghe after beating prime G Johnson.
