Is Ward that good or is Kessler overrated / hype ?

I dont know why people dont see what I see in Ward hes different breed. The way he outclassed the Pantera and Kessler doesnt happen that often. He didnt do it with slaps and he almost never got hit flush. The guy is one of the most athletic boxers out there. All he needs is experience now in big fights.

 

Like always the truth is somewhere in the middle.

 

Although Kessler had a bad night that night and was obviously not at his best, he's also overrated to some extent. He lost to Calzaghe - an ATG - which is ok. Other opponents he fought and won against are not on a world class level. Neither Mundine nor Andrade and definitely not Beyer are fighters who have the class and skills of Andre Ward. In my opinion he hasn't proven that he's as good as many of his fans believe. He's good, yes, but not that good.

 

I also believe it to be both.

 

Kess is a quality fighter, he rarely loses a round! Ward showed how good he was in the fight. best man won on the day.

Id stick pick Kess to beat JT, Dirrell and Froch. Abraham will be a good fight though.

Kessler's biggest claim to fame is giving Calzaghe a fairly competitive fight, but then some pretty average fighters have done the same.

Kessler is decent enough, but the the hype he gets on here is ridiculous. He's probably not any better than someone like Robin Reid if truth be known.

I think Kessler was overrated. But Ward is better than expected as well.

 

It'll take a world class fighter who ends up exploiting Ward's flaws for this all to finally and completely dawn on people.

 

You know, if Ward came out of nowhere and upset Kessler, it would be easier to question his legitimacy and say Kessler had a bad day and Ward's style just beat him. But the guy went through the trials of the Olympics and won Gold. He has a great amatuer background. He has the right mental make up and heart. And now, he just dominated what was supposed to be the best SMW in the division. He's not some hype job.

Kessler has slipped a lot, but Ward has his referee to help him out. The ref was there to help Ward. Why is "all" of Ward's fights in his home town? This is wrong. Ward has all three judges until he got caught. Kessler was stupid to agree with Ward's personal referee. The headbutts were illegal, but Ward's ref said nothing, not to mention the low blows, elbows, holding, etc., but that was Ward's plan all along.

Yeah he's that good. But he's also a barefaced CHEAT.
