Is Ward the real deal?

I like Ward. He proved his class against Kessler and has backed it up since. Some people dont like his style but I dont mind it, I dont think he is dirty.

I can see him winning the super 6, I think he;ll be too accurate for Froch.

 

Yes, although his game is still incomplete and he needs to fight more to get to his potential best. And he needs to fight world class fights away from home.

 

America are looking for the next upcoming star.....it shows the state of US boxing that they are looking to an unspectacular though effective fighter like Ward to fill the void left by De La Hoya and soon Mayweather...pretty desperate if you ask me

Ward is more boring than Hopkins to watch.....

I fancy him to beat Froch in the Final ...but only because it is in the US....

 

In the Kessler fight Ward threw nine head butts, but only landed five. He has a ways to go before I would put him in the same class with "The Real Deal."

 

He's good but he's no Holyfield. Ward does what he needs to in order to win and if that includes fouling so be it. People need to stop bitching about that as fouling in boxing happens and has been happening for many,many years. I do think he relies on mauling a bit too much and should box more. I also am tired of the hometown advantage but I'm glad he still fights in the S6. Ward is good but I feel he needs more tests for me to further my assessment of him.

I'm still skeptical about what happens when he gets hit by a good puncher, thus far he has tended to do a Ricky Hatton when facing a puncher, he's tried to take away their extension for their power by get inside their range/power, essentially smothering them.

 

He is the number one man at SMW right now that makes him the read deal already. How can he not be? He beat the consensus favorite at SMW convincingly and defended against a top 5-6 guy in bika. He will go on to easily outbox Froch, this fight wont be close and win the S6.

The only guy left for him after that will be bute. I have my doubt about Bute stepping it up as he ducked the s6 which reflects poorly on him. Ward has already proved he is more of a man in that respect.

People say Ward is USA's Ottke. At least ward has fought all over the country and even in the Caribbean.

Bute is canada's Ottke. Bute looks great against B level fighters but doesnt even have one A level fighter on his record. By the end of 2011 ward will have 3 A level fighters on his.:deal

 

I do think Ward is better.

 

Did Ottke ever fight someone as good as Sakio Bika?
