Of course, you know better than Showtime's Ken Hershman. :nut
Bute has never been invited in the super 6.

More, Bute just signed to fight the winner of the tournament. You sound like a stucked CD.

He is good. But I am not a complete believer yet. Fighting in your hometown is lame.

Yes, and better fighters more than once. I guess you only know rumours rather than facts with that comment :patsch

Its too early to say about Ward yet. He has potential no doubt and may go on to be special but...
His big win is over an already beaten Kessler who was having eye problems and suffering double vision.
He hasnt fought anyone of real note other than a good but unwell fighter. Miranda or Bika is his next biggest win, and both have been exposed at a higher level.
Wards next fight is (not his fault) against a fighter coming off of 2 defeats, which wont tell anyone too much.

We will only know how good Ward is when he is fighting another world class fighter outside of Joakland. He is allowed to do alot of dirty fighting there, holding, illegal head use, forearms etc. Also Ward cries to the ref alot ie against Kessler and Bika.

Hard to tell prior to the S6 he beat Miranda pretty easily but by then Miranda had been beaten and exposed several times

S6 he won the first round by beating Kessler. Kessler was a guy picked to win the whole tournament. To me the win has question marks. First Ward was an unknown a darkhorse a guy with little film nobody knew his capablilites. Kessler must have been a little shocked when he saw what Ward was capable of. Also the tactics were very questionable. Ward held a lot, I mean a lot. Kessler could land and cornered him a lot but Ward smotehred his offense. Also the headbutting. He was in the hometown with a ref who didnt warn for anything. Not trying to make excuses for Kessler he lost fair and square but it was a dubious fight.

Then he fights Bika and Green but doesnt prove much a step back in comp vs limited guys who were stylitically easy fights

What I think about him: he is quick, he is tricky with his movement and hard to hit, no showing of a bad chin but rarely ever gets hit so it may be weak, great foot work, switch hitter, holds a lot, uses the head a lot, not much power

He will be the real deal in my book when he beats Abe, the Froch/ Johnson winner, and Bute

If he does this he is for real in my book

    Good post.
Just a couple of things -
Beating AA wont mean much beating a fighter coming off of 2 defeats where he was clearly outclassed and is a fighter said to be dropping back a weight after the tournament. What was AAs big MW win?
If Johnson wins it wont mean much beating him in real truth, it would just mean C Froch isnt as good as many thought. Johnson has 14 losses 2 draws and has lost as many at SMW as he has won. Look at Johnsons SMW resume

M Sosa who had 5 losses and 2 draws, and lost his next 2 fights after beating Johnson
Kiwanuka who had 3 losses and 2 draws, had lost his last 2 fights coming into his fight with Johnson and his fight after Johnson
Ottke 16-0 who in fairness was an outstanding SMW boxer
Vanderpool 27-1 who lost his next fight, but in fairness that was at MW to Hopkins and Vanderpool had a good run after
Branco 38-4-2 who was a world class SMW and became WBA LHW champ
Sheika who was 19-1 and lost his next fight, though in fairness that was to Calzaghe.

The SMWs that Johnson has managed to beat
Campas 3-20-4 coming off of only 2 losses and won his next fight
Watson 24-16-1, Johnson was his last fight
Renteria 9-23-5 coming in, whos last 10 fight record before facing Johnson was 0-8-2
Zimmerman 15-2-0 coming in, who had lost his previous fight and the one after
A Green 29-2-0 coming in and Johnsons biggest SMW victory.

Victory over Froch and Bute would be good results if they are clear and not in Joakland. Butes resume isnt great but he has been dealing with lesser fighters as expected MOST of the time

Funny thing is Ward is only 26. he has PLENTY of time to continue to grow and be the star he has the potential to be.

while Ward is fighting A Class world talent, Bute is in Canada eating snails and fighting B level contenders. Why anyone would think that Hype job Bute defeats Ward is amazing! Ward is the future and will be around for awhile. Bute? I'll bet once he finally starts meeting decent competition he retires 1-2 years after taking many ass whoppings. Look at Kessler. When he FINALLY starts meeting world class competition and 2 fights later he's badly injured.

He is very good - a solid fighter who does most things well. I'd like to have seen him against Dirrell and can't wait to see him fight Froch. Time will tell I suppose and hopefully we'll see him fight outside of his ****ing living room.

Ward will truly seperate himself this year. he is a position to be the best at his weightclass convincingly this year and into 2012. I think he will do it. time shall tell though. gonna be exciting to see him go up against Froch if they both make it into the finals.

Wow, the poll results really shock me. I really don't know what to say. Ward is the real deal to me and that's so obvious to me. The only real question with him and any young up and comer is his chin and power. But i think he will be a top 3 P4P fighter within a year or so when he wins the Super 6.
