I think most casuals were pretty disappointed, they won't buy a second fight. They want to see fights like Canelo vs. Kirkland. The fight yesterday was not a good representation for the sport and I was also annoyed but the Marco Huck, Sven Ottke, Wladimir Klitschko clinching. I am fed up with these fights and do not need to see them if watching HBO boxing or Showtime.

Fans just saw a robbery, who wants to pay for another robbery?! However, I will pay to see the rematch. The rematch clause will be enforced, Ward does not want the rematch, but Ward signed the contract, they will probably have to sue to get the rematch because SOB knows he lost the fight and will get knocked out in the rematch. Ward will want his personal judges though..................

I think a rematch would be good business for both. The world will pay much more attention to the second fight, especially due to the circumstances of the first.

From a neutral standpoint, I'd support Kovalev in a rematch to set up a trilogy.

Honestly, I don't even want to see it if there isn't some indication that we going to see Kov get a fair fight. When 80% of the boxing public claim robbery it hurts my interest instead of adding to it.

    No, but drama sells.
    Jones - Tarver I - 302k PPV
    Jones - Tarver II - 385k PPV
    Jones - Tarver III - 440k PPV
The first fight had a crowd of some 8000, the third meeting took place in front of 20 000.

I think the rematch will do better than the first fight because of the controversy.

Let's face it, even though it sucked to us as boxing fans the controversial outcome was the best possible outcome for the promotion of the rematch, it is now much more talk in the media about the fight than it would have been if there had been a decisive winner and if Kovalev got the nod with like 3-4 point advantage. There will also be a lot of trash talk before the rematch, at least from Kovalev's side.

Kovalev needs to go full heel and embrace his role of being a Russian bad guy completely, he should just talk about politics and diss Americans who don't want Russians to win and talk about what a ***** Ward is for his fighting style. I think he should just go full Drago and talk about killing Ward in the rematch. This is the kind of thing that sells, it's why UFC and McGregor are selling the tickets and why Mayweather was such a draw. People want controversy and bad guys talking ****.

I'm usually not a fan of this and prefer to see fighters respecting each other but boxing needs a highly publicized fight badly.
