But in fairness Ward did atleast move up in weight and fought Barrera who's underrated and Kovalev at 175.
Indeed. If you don't think Ward is strolling into the HOF then you're insane. At 168 we have to talk about fellow HOF'ers to have a chance of him losing.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it just got harder to make up for Hops and Mosley being in the class before: Roy's last fight with Bobby Gunn counted as an official one, and that happened in 2017 lol I'm thinking it's Floyd, Wlad, and Roy, but the competition for those 3 spots is murderous. In most other years, the 2nd tier guys would be locks.
Ward just started talking about trying to get a Joshua fight which obviously won't happen due to Joshua being busy. It was just talk anyway. Now if you want bias look at Golovkin when he says he can fight ANYBODY , including Andre Ward from 154-168 and he has yet to fight anyone at 168. Whenever I say Golovkin should move up the guys on this forum have a fit like a pregnant female dog. Ward moved up, Mayweather moved up, Pacquiao moved up, but when you ask any of those EE guys they worship to challenge themselves,it's always an excuse and the expectation changes for them. THAT IS SUPER BIAS!!!!! This content is protected
He's HOF caliber for sure, but there's brutal competition he's up against that will highlight the lack of longevity at the top level(relatively speaking). Only 3 get in, and this class is going to have Floyd, Wlad, Roy, Cotto, and plenty of others in it. The 7 month dynasty at 175 and the Super Six are quality, but some of the competition he's up against were winning titles and fighting title fights since the Twin Towers were standing and, in Roy's case, when Andre was like 9. Andre's got 9 title fights in 32 career bouts. Floyd, Roy, Wlad, Cotto all have at least 25. He didn't accomplish as much weight jumping as Roy, Floyd, or Cotto, and he didn't have a better one-weight reign than Wlad. There's another unbeaten guy with a way longer, better track record in Floyd he's up against. He'll get in, but he'll probably have to wait unless extra credit goes for his amateur career since he's still the last U.S. Olympic gold medal winner.
