floyd has a ton of wins better than Dawson. Hell, Ward has a couple as well.

Don't know about that, but Ward's overall resume is better.

No because Dawson's skills were on the decline as evident in the Hopkins fight. Ward was a 4-1 favorite for a reason, because no one was impressed by Chad's performance against Hopkins and he was fighting at 168.

Sven Warddke's win over Dawson is as relevant as a wet fart.just a brown stain on the underwear, nothing more....

No... Chad coming down in weight where he was clearly not the same isn't as good as Floyd's wins coming up in weight against champions..

The Dawson fight doesn't mean much in the grand scheme, yes, but when you realize who these 'champions' actually were...meh, the gap shrinks.

    Clearly better:
    Genaro
    Corrales
    Castillo I
    Castillo II
    Oscar
    Hatton
    Cotto

    Probably better:
    Marquez

    Close to as good as:
    Chavez
    Judah
    Mosley

It's on par. Floyd's wins over Corrales, Castillo, De La Hoya, Hatton, Cotto, or Hernandez aren't much if any better. The difference is, obviously, Floyd has quite a few on that level. But yeah, Ward's dismantling of Ward is about as impressive as any single win Mayweather's got on his ledger.

Which 'champions' were worse than a Dawson who clearly wasn't the same fighter at 175?

Didn't say they were 'worse', but it's not a huge gap.

Gatti-Shouldn't have to expound on this one.

    Oscar-Haha

    Baldy-Haha

Cotto-We can't forget the 5'7" Cotto with a 67" reach...who, supposedly, is fighting at his "natural weight" of 154.

Come to think of it...yeah, a couple of these guys are worse or on par with an emaciated Dawson. No doubt about it.

Oh, and since you mentioned it. Not sure any of these guys would qualify as being better than they once were. Expect maybe Baldy, but his bar was never that high to begin with.

ok... I don't believe many people would have chose those wins as better than Dawson's to begin with... Thought you were talking about the Castillo, Corrales, Hernandez, etc type fights.

no it's not. i don't give any credit for a win over a dead at the weight fighter. hell, floyds win over baldimir is better.

forget what he could or couldn't do at 175, that's neither here nor there. the fact is it took place at 168 where dawson was weight drained like hell. it meant nothing.
