I remember fighters like David Lemieux, And Billy Joe Saunders passing up fights with Daniel Jacobs last year. I also think maybe Canelo would not be fighting Jacobs if he did not have that IBF belt. In the canelo/Jacobs press conference only few cheered for Jacobs as if he was unknown somewhat .I also read he hardly sells out in brooklyn he isn't a big draw. So is Jacobs a high risk low reward for top middleweights today ??

Yes, absolutely; but Canelo received a ludicrous, over the odds DAZN deal. He has to justify it, and credit where it's due-he is in this fight and , starting now, so far (if this mess makes sense) doing it.

    Danny is always dangerous IMO.
I still think Big Red will walk him into the ropes, crush his body and then unload on him with his beautiful inside uppercuts tainted with meat juice.

Canelo will be looking for a stoppage around the 10th

He and ironically Sergey Derevyenchenko are two of the biggest -- if not the two biggest -- HIGH risk/Low reward boxers in the world today. They are the epitome of the term. I really wish they both had a far greater following and marketability but unfortunately(and I hate to say it) I think the fact that they are class acts through and through are the primary factor in their current standing which is downright pitiful and pathetic. In todays world and more specifically combat sports the guys who bark up a storm, act like total clowns, and not just cross the line(on any and all topics) but ****ing evapirate it...... They are the guys making eff tons of bread. Danny and Sergey are both very intelligent guys, they know how it is and what theyd have to do to start generating the following needed to reach pinnacle levels of marketability in boxing but they clearly have way too much class, honor, integrity, tact, and self respect to make such a compromise and turn into another complete sellout ballsack with a slack jaw. Coincidentally again, its usually those exact types that kick it in right when the going gets tough and wnd up looking like the biggest idiots after talking so much ****(nowadays almost always universally as disrespectful as possible and **** that cant be taken back) and then punt the ball with 2 seconds left in the game instead of launching a hail mary. Conor McGregor is the most disgustibg and vile breed of these sellouts. And he's a total joke regardless of how rich he is - alks so much **** and goes way too far with it by insulting race, nationality, family, religion etc etc yet the aecond he gets put in a choke hold he taps before pressure is even being applied to whatever hold he got caught in. For a "professional fighter" -- or actually anyone for that matter -- youd be hatd pressed to find a bigger ***** and someone with absolutely NO fight in him what so ever.

its better to base an estimation on what he has done, rather than what might. Us 3G fans can fall into traps if we for instance pretend that 3G has more than 2 top wins.

Jacobs beat Derev, was it, by MD for a vacant title, his best acheivement so far, he is therefore a titlist and worth it, but not mre until he does it.

He obviously does not care about preserving an unbeaten record.

Hes beaten everytime he stepped up to the world title level except the last close shave, so I'd call him high risk for a contender, but for a world champion you'd be odds on to beat him...but not great odds.

Since hes become a champion, hes high reward so the thread isnt applicable.
