Floyd is no longer an American "hope".. he has been the real deal for quite a few years already. The only real American hope right now is Chad Dawson, who clearly has amazing skill and could go on to accomplish great things.

As much as I love the U.S.A, I'm not really that bias towards American fighters. Sure Dawson is my favorite fighter and all, but I like fighters from different parts the world such as Raphael Marquez, Rulsan Chagaev, and Edison Miranda. To me what matters if a fighter is likeable, is how well they box and there personality. I mean you like certain fighters from Mexico or Russia too right?

I think floyd is more than just a hope by now surley? But yeh i agree with you boxing has become more of a world wide sport, and isnt this a great thing? Do you as americans really want to be the only ones in the competition? Bit boring no? I think there have been greater periods in boxing but generally id say it is on the rise on seeing off the competition of other sports such as mma. World wide boxing is better than american only boxing surley , even for americans?

Whats so funny, honestly I don't see the point of this whole America needs to dominate every weight division, I don't even notice that the Russians are dominating the heavyweights until someone brought it up. Same with the Supermiddle weights.
