Had taylor went on to have a stellar career, he may have a case but his claim as ATG is still not secured
I recognize that there were times in his career that he had difficulty getting big fights, although he has had a number of these, but I don't really get the inactivity. He hasn't fought more than twice in a year since 1996!
Winky Wright is on the border of top 100 atg status. His big 5 wins came against Trinidad, Mosley(2), Bronco McKart(2 out of 3(Wright won all 3 but one came as a DQ). The Trinidad win is good and the Mosley wins are good, but outside of that the list begins to fall apart with a ton of no-names or guys that are known but were underachievers. Add in the losses against Paul Williams, Bernard Hopkins(though this really doesn't hurt him since he was fighting at 170), Harry Simon, Fernando Vargas, and Julio Cesar Vasquez as well as the draw to Jermain Taylor and he is tetoring on the edge. After the Taylor fight I think he developed a bit of a reputation of not finishing fights.
yes, Winky Wright is easily. that mu****a came in and took out two ATG's with ease. Tito and Mosely. If oscar wasn't such a ***** he woulda caught that work from Winky also. I don't know who the **** Wiky Wright is tho.
I don't have a top 100, but if I did I think he would fall short. He has the talent but I don't think he has the wins.
I think there's some confusion here. Are you talking about Wiky Wright or Winky Wright? Because Winky isn't. Wiky damn sure isn't. That dude sucked. Winky was at least pretty good.
He is a lock for top 5 atg 154 pounders but Im not sure about top 100. Ive seen top 100 lists and sometimes theyre pretty wack so I could see him getting in there. I would just have to look at one and look at their 70-100 guys and see if I think he is better than some of them. Head to head he no doubt belongs in there but his record doesnt have that many names and officially he doesnt have wins over vargas and taylor but we know the truth about that.
