In today's world certainly. Young, athletic, eager with ko power in his right hand. He needs a good trainer to settle him down and teach him the basics of boxing.
you'd have to say yes....but he still seems to be a cherry picker, which will always give ammo for the doubters! It may well be there's a few fighters out there maybe 5-10 or more even that could well beat him now if he was to take them on.....
Is Joe Louis a Top 5 heavyweight :think Is Rocky Marciano a Top 5 heavyweight :smoke Every great was trolled by menials...all through history. However, the bronze spike on the rock sheet recorded history & if the peasant trolled, his descendants became faithful, rest assured Deontay Wilder will go down in history as an ATG at worse condition (assuming he goes pacifist & loses 20 fights in a row)
I have him at #4. I suppose you could make an argument that either Pulev (#5) or Jennings (#6) should be ranked ahead of Wilder, but in that case Wilder would still be #6.
Well he is undefeated and has a strap, that for many would mean he was. If you look at his resume or how he would do H2H, then probably not.
