He’s just a modern day Shannon Briggs but with a better management team and half of the talent.

No. The undisputed heavyweight champion of most overrated boxers is Errol Spence. I love the kid personally but holy sht! Some people already have him as the goat after one fight against Brook who was winning the fight till the eye injury caused by a spence head butt.

Nobody is overrating him, everybody knows that he has flaws but wether you guys like it or not he is a formidable heavyweight and he will be a big player for years to come, possibly rule the division.

Most heavyweights in the history of the sport pale in comparison to fighters from smaller divisions when it comes to pure boxing skills.

The heavyweight division is different, there aren't as many punches thrown, you don't need to be as fluid, especially not if you have one punch knockout power.

It's fine to rate the guy......

But there's no logic in rating him higher than Joshua.

Power/Stamina difference is minimal, if any at all.

Technically, in both offence and defence, Joshua is levels ahead.

To actually 'rate' Wilder highly, you actually have to rate Joshua higher.

I would say he's certainly over-hyped, he's done little to earn a definitive rating, he might blast all-comers out yet and so the hype may prove justified.

Without a shadow of doubt, Luis Ortiz is the most over-hyped boxer right now. Wilder has him @ #2 in the HW division!

It's been normal practice to put him in the top 3-5 at Heavyweight since he turned pro! Just check the disparity between his actual boxing performances and his 'eye test' rating. Smoke and mirrors of the most delusional order.
