Wilder has 38 fights. Also, Joshua while being a huge local attraction in the UK he isn't a big draw globally. He has more belts, but two of them were gained by fighting for a vacant title against Wlad, who was coming off an almost two year layoff and a loss.

In the US people know who Wilder is because of PBC and he's also fought at the MGM before. If promoted properly Wilder vs. Joshua would do huge money at the MGM in Vegas. Also, Joshua gave Wlad a 55/45 split, who wasn't a champ at the time and was never much of a draw outside of Germany. Hearn also set a precedent by paying Martin, who was an inferior and less well known American Champion compared to Wilder $8.5 Million. Wilder would be a complete fool to settle for anything less than a $10 million guarantee or a 50/50 split.

Definitely not as much as 90,000 at Wembley. People pay ridiculous ticket prices for lower capacity venues (such as Vegas) when big names show up. As you already said yourself, Joshua isn't a big name in the US and no matter how much you protest the harsh truth is Wilder isn't either. If ticket prices for the MGM are set to emulate the gate of a 90k attendance fight between Joshua and Wilder there will be an awful lot of empty seats, all you have to do is look at Wilder's poorly attended cheap home events to see this. Having this fight in Vegas just to have the fight in Vegas would be a stupid move financially. The vast majority of the gate money will be generated by UK fans, likewise PPV so why shrink that majority of the market share by hosting it stateside? Some flashy Vegas night lights? Not worth it.

Not entirely correct. The WBA refused to put their title on the line for any fight that didn't include Klitschko, so while he may not have been a champion he was still a vital part of acquiring the belt. And you're wrong about him not being a draw, Klitschko has a big reputation in the UK after the nationwide coverage of the Haye and Fury fights.
Broken toe, decapitation T-shirts, the Haye/Chisora brawl at Vitali's press conference, I'm the GODDAMN BATMAN!!! All this malarkey builds a lot of notoriety. What's Wilder done? Oh, he shook Tony Bellew's hand, nice, his casual appeal doesn't hold a candle to Wlad's in the UK.

That was nearly two years ago and isn't entirely relevant to the economics of this fight in the slightest. Joshua had only had one 7 figure payday before Martin (£3m against Whyte). That first title was what made those paydays a regular occurrence so it had to be paid for at a premium. Joshua is now the kind of name that will make £20m every fight, Wilder is certainly a better champion than Martin but he won't have anywhere near as much financial impact on Joshua's career as Martin did. As ****ed up as that sounds it's the harsh truth of the business.

No, just no, don't humiliate yourself like that. Come this Saturday Joshua will have made more money and put more bums on seats in two fights that Wilder has in his entire 38 fight career. That's a fact. 50/50 is an absurd split and if Wilder demands that then it's a duck, plain and simple.

FWIW I think Wilder should get 40% (with a prerequisite condition), that's a generous but fair offer and will certainly exceed that of a $10m flat fee if done correctly. That condition being a nice $5m cherry on top fight with Whyte at the O2 arena in the spring whilst Joshua fetches the WBO from Parker. Wilder gets an easy $5m, plays the big bad American heel and builds the Joshua mega fight in the process. He does bring a fair bit to the table (the last piece of the undisputed title and a big shouty mouth), just nowhere near as much as Joshua.

If they time it right, they can hold the fight outdoors and the crowd will be cooled tremendously by windmill action. You heard it here first.

5 voluntary title fights in a row, a record! Against winos from the alley! Wilder has not fought anyone. Yes, I think he is embarrassed as hell, Wilder knows he can't beat Joshua, that's why he will make excuses to for ducking him...................anyone who is a threat is famed, Wilder is the most protected fighting in boxing today! He is not a good fighter. Usyk is a cruiserweight, yet he would beat Wilder, probably knock him out, he is in another class!!! Wilder will continue to run his mouth, when time comes to fight, he will run! Wilder will never fight a legit fight, never!

A man who can commission his own statue to be built is immune to embarrassment.

Wilder will get a 50/50 split if Joshua, his management team or his promoter thinks it will be financially in their interest to do so to gain his belt or get big time exposure Stateside.

This is business, the boxing element is a side show to the money men.

    Gotta build the hype

Ain't no shame in Deontay's game. If there was we'd have seen him step up a long time ago.

    Cheers, man. Appreciate the endorsement.

I have my favourite and least liked fighters, just like any other posters here, but I like to think I'm better than most at preventing those biases from clouding my reasoning. I'll wax lyrical about Usyk when he wins the WBSS and I'll criticise Wilder when he inevitably pulls his next load of BS, but I'll always consciously try my hardest to discuss and debate an issue with a baseline degree of impartiality. Jackomano's logic was flawed and his points were less relevant to the topic at hand than he originally thought but he put them forth anyway to make Wilder look justified, so I called him out on it.

Thanks, man :icon12::icon12:. I'm more than partial to the odd joke here and there and I can turn into a filthy little karma ***** on the weekends. But when it comes to an actual discussion/debate I always try to meet a standard until a conclusion, compromise or stalemate is reached.

Thanks for the follow too, just don't expect me to part any seas. I have no idea what the feature actually does though; I followed Max Thunder a while back after a string of funny comments he made and I was expecting alerts for his next nugget of comedy but didn't get any. All the boxes on my alert preferences are ticked too... I think it just tells you when the guy is online which seems a little pointless to me but like I said, I appreciate the endorsement.

No probs. Nice to meet a like minded poster. No real idea what the follow feature does either, but it seems better than nothing!
