I think he's improved and looked at his best vs. Buffet Stiverne, is he now reaching his Prime and will AJ who's still a baby meet him at the wrong time?

his best fight was stiverne 1

he has not repeated this preformance before or since.
he is still prime phycially / no slowing of speed .

just his opponents have not been of such a standard that he has had to worry about anything coming back and so its why we all still do not know what his actual potential is.

i have always said there is a very good fighter in there if he could stick to his basics and get his gameplan in shape.

but it all goes out of the window in fights recently and he littrally and figurativley wings it.

the straight down the pipe shot v stiverne was perfect the follow up effective but crude

He's passed his prime if recent performances are taken into account. Stiverne II was a smoke and mirrors fight that doesn't have any bearing on how he performs against genuine top level or even mid level operators; his performances against Washington and Szpilka are the real gauges of where he currently stands, and the Szpilka fight was quite a while ago now.

Wilder's let his ego take control of himself and it's led to him becoming totally delusional about his abilities or need to develop his skills. He's a classic case of a protected fighter thinking he's better than he is combined with a KO puncher who's fallen in love with his power, a really bad combination for any future growth.

Physically he's breaking down due to his undisciplined style that's obviously terrible for the joints and leads to potentially huge hand injuries that can only get worse over time. While he hasn't shown any slowing down or lack of overall explosiveness he's clearly reaching that point where the injuries are going to start mounting up.

Wilder's in a position now where he's reached his peak as an athlete, is beginning to suffer the wear and tear of the sport, and can't really learn or relearn anything stylistically. He's also at the point where he can't afford to sit back any longer in terms of soft-touch opponents or learning fights, which means he's more or less stuck with what he has in terms of skills, abilities and experience.

Luckily he's completely oblivious to all this and seems to possess genuine belief in himself, which can go a long way. His earning window is very short though, and I hope his handlers are aware of this as far as cashing him out goes, since there'll be no coming back from a loss at this stage.

Wilder is probably at his peak now.But that is by design BC of poor opposition that his own team have fed him.Really he should have been adding to his skills years ago.

He self admits he doesn't need to improve but if he can work that more aggressive jab he could have far easier fights, but he has hindered his own career by self sabotaging it.:smash2:

It will be kinda weird but you and I will be on the same side when Wilder and Joshua square off. Lol! :D I am not a fan of Joshua but I REALLY don’t like Wilder. I hope Anthony puts him out for a 50 count.

This is why I respect Parker so much. He's doing everything Wilder should have been doing at his age. Instead, Wilder/his handlers/whatever wanted to preserve this mythical and pointless KO ratio by feeding him the worst opposition they could for as long as they could, and it's not only stunted his development but given him a false sense of security that's going to be devastating for his psyche once he loses, and likely loses badly.

I do think Wilder is at his prime right now, the good things he does have got better, the bad things he does havnt gone but he does tend to wait a bit longer, till he knows he has his man hurt before he starts going all messy and windmill. He has improved all in all.

But im not sure what you saw to say he looked at his best against somebody who came into the fight fat and unfit and then just stood still for 2 minutes then fell over.

Looked his best in what sense? Stiverne only threw 4 punches. He just stood there and took whatever Wilder threw at him.

Yes he is at his prime for sure, and he still gets outboxed by sub-standard boxers like Szpilka and Washington. Lol!
