In my opinion, a bit of both, but more so Parker:

Remember when Wilder lost 9 rounds straight to Spzilka? Spzilka has no chin and is a lesser boxer than Parker who has historically had a great chin.

Remember old man Ortiz 6-0 Wilder before KO outta nowhere. Ortiz got carried away smirking and **** when Wilder turned his lights off.

Parker came prepared and switched on for 12 rounds with Fury’s advice. I think the Wilder from Fury fights would likely have been beaten here too

    Both

Parker has been heavily active and hungry and was gifted Fury mojo to beat Wilder.

Wilder has been heavily inactive, beaten up and doesn't really care clearly, big payday potential brought him back from his ayahuasca trip. Probably made what $20-30m tonight? and he'll retire off that.

Parker has skills and very good pop in his punches and can also take a solid shot, so he would have been a difficult fight for Wilder at any point during his reign as champion IMO, possibly even beat him during both their respective peaks.

Wilder clearly doesn't have the legs, speed, or reflexes he had 4-5 years ago. That said Parker and his team came prepared and Parker executed the game plan and got the win, which is all that matters, since now Parker can move on to more important fights.

Parkers always been a legit contender.

Wilder has never beaten a legit contender before.
His best win is Ortiz, an overhyped gatekeeper with a paper thin resume.

I don't think the "Fury informed camp" would've swung it too much, there's a good chance this fight would always have gone this way - there would always have been a chance Wilder would've found the KO, but then again maybe Parker's chin would always have to too good.

Wilder's always been overhyped and overrated.

Parker was in his 4th fight for the year, a active fighter v a inactive fighter.

Ruiz would have been a good match up or Wallin.

I vote "Both". But given Wilder's limitations, he should not even try to come back. He should stop now.

Do I think he will? Of course not. I'm sure he'll spin us a yarn about how he hurt his right shoulder in sparring in the lead up to the fight <cue violins> or some such nonsense.

Terrible poll. Parker has a good strategy + Wilder has never really been a top guy, that simple.
Hell Parker could very well could have been eating Wilder punches all night and still not getting KOed, as far as i'm concern, as we don't know how powerful Wilder right hand is, and the only person to blame for that is Wilder and his pick of opponents.

    Lets look at Wilder's history

    - Losing to Washington until monster right hand
    - Losing to Szpilka until monster right hand
    - Losing to Ortiz twcie until monster right hands

He's never been a good boxer, just a good puncher. Parker was always better than him. Parker has a better style for him than AJ even, Parker has an iron chin and he's faster than AJ and a smaller target.

Parker would not be a good matchup for Wilder even on Wilder's best of days.

But he has company there. I only think Wilder fought four fighters (Stiverne in 2015, Ortiz in 2017/2018, Fury in 2018-2021, and Parker in 2023) who could credibly be considered to be in the top-10 of the HW division at the time Wilder fought them. His resume simply isn't good.

Parker has always had skills, and has always been more skilled than Wilder, no denying that.

But activity was a factor too: it’s not a huge surprise that the man in his 4th fight of 2023, beat the man who had contested less than 1 round in the past 26 months.

Wilder did absolutely nothing for 12 rounds, an old woman with an abacus could have counted the punches he threw in this fight. , and when did he ever try act like Willie Pep , constantly moving. He acted like Parker was George Foreman and as for Parker ,he looked about the same as he always did. He should have ko'ed Wilder inside 5 or 6 with the lack of any serious punches coming his way.

    Belly has skills
    J-Park has skills
    Ortiz has skills

The Dosser lost every round he didn't score a KD in against them

Everyone else The Dosser has fought are very low skill and aren't near genuine world level

I agree 100% agree with this post. I think the version of Parker would have given Wilder trouble at any point in his career and I think would have beaten Wilder from the second fight (and maybe all the other Fury fights). It was simply that on sided and Wilder is finishing his career with 2 fights against top 10 guys who were not totally cooked (he lost all of those fights).

I think last night exposed Wilder, some will say ‘he was utterly shot and that’s why but to deny that he’s not been vastly overrated and protected for me is being dishonest. Parker deserves all the credit.
