He has no chance to win, so why let Wlad ruin him before he's had a chance to build his brand and milk the belt a bit? Of course, there's always the possibility that Wilder will miss out on the payday if Wlad retires, but that's a risk I'd be willing to take.
No. I also think the fight as an event is ready yet. If like to see Wilder fight a few more top guys, maybe Thompson, Fury, Pulev types. Then the fight will be ready, esp if Wilder can score some KOs on NBC.
Far from it. He should have another 4-5 fights before a shot at Wlad. Wilder needs to polish his game, and learn how to stay composed and methodological. He's way too wild right now, when he jumps in and starts swinging he looks like a complete amateur.
With his power and size, he'll always have a chance. But it's not a great chance by any means. If I were Wilder I'd be worried about Povetkin becoming my mandatory in the very near future, and having to face him before the anticipated unification vs. Wlad.. I fight in which I would favor Povtekin to win by KO.
Wlad wants him in 2015. I've watched Wilder in interviews saying he would like to fight Klitschko in 2016.
Yeah hes not gonna improve a great deal from this point forward. I say Wilder should take a one or two more fights against top 10 guys then go for Wlad.
