Wilder is probably as ready as he'll ever be.
What he probably wants to do is let some time catch up to Wlad. In a few years, Wlad will be 40 and Wilder will still be in his early 30's.

Not sure about the logic behind saying wilder is as ready as he'll ever be or that he wont improve going forward. The guy has gone past four rounds one time and hes not going to improve as he gains experience going rounds against higher level opponents? Just seems like an odd stance.

No, there is reason to believe Wilder will improve. So don't make the fight.

On the other hand, from a money perspective, Wilder should make the fight with Klitschko if he's faced with a mandatory he might not beat. If Wilder loses a fight, then Klitschko might not face him before retiring. He won't have to.

****ing sucks boxing is dominated by money, because I'd rather see Wilder fight Fury and/or Povetkin than fight Klitschko.
