Well, how big was the arena that held Parker-Ruiz. Because only 9,000 showed up.

How are they not comparing apples to apples. Two heavyweight fights (Wilder-Stiverne 2/Joshua-Takam). Two apparent mismatches. Two weeks apart. On the same television network.

Wilder's fight drew three times as many viewers in the U.S. as Joshua's did.

However, to answer the original thread starters question... Yes, you would have to say Wilder is bigger imo.

Wilder is more popular in America; Population 312 million.

Parker is more popular in Austrailia/ New Zeland; Population 29 million.

They are both also rans everywhere else.

    Any other questions?

Parker is a bona fide celebrity in a small market.

The Parker-Ruiz fight didn't sell out the arena but that is because Ruiz was not perceived as a top fighter, it wasn't really seen as a "proper" world title fight and the tickets were probably priced exorbitantly compared to other sports events in NZ.

NZ is a small country who do quite well in a number of sports for our size and we tend to be quite picky and cynical. People are not just going to throw money at something that is obviously not quite the real thing.

If Parker fought Joshua at Eden Park and the tickets were priced as they would be for a rugby game I honestly reckon 40,000 people would turn up.

Probably. But it's hard to tell. Within boxing with hardcore fans he's considered #2 behind JA comparing the 3 champions.

Except that's an oversimplification. Wilder > Parker in US. Parker >>>> Wilder in NZ. The question is who's greater in GB? Thats the tiebreaker. Parker fought Hughie out there, so my bet is Parker. Fairly equal either way though.

AJ is far more popular in a much bigger market than the USA and I would be interest if you could throw European figures in these as well..

Interesting as AJ is far more popular in Europe with a population of 743 million yet some here think Wilder is not ducking asking for a 50/50 split???

The boxing world doesn't just involve the US.

    As you totally ignored before....

Joshua vs Wlad - Over 10 million Germans
Wilder vs Washington - Not even 2 million Americans

Non-evening viewing Showtime record holder - Anthony Joshua

Joshua is the biggest draw in the sport....

If you actually compare 'oranges to oranges'.

Joshua had over 10x more viewers in his time zone than Wilder did against Washington/Stiverne.

The Showtime record within the US, for a fight held at the same time as Joshua vs Klitschko.....is Joshua vs Klitschko.
