    When you consider the various factors;

    • Wilders career earnings, the money offered and the money he's going to make instead, easily the widest discrepancy of any other ducking boxer ever.
    • The fact that it is for undisputed and Wilder only has to bring one belt to the table.
    • The fact that someone in desperate need of recognition is avoiding arguably the biggest star in the sport and the chance to become THE man of the sport, something we've never seen before.
    • The fact that the b side is getting home advantage, again never seen before in the history of the sport,
    • And the fact that he is being given not one, but TWO opportunities to beat Joshua...

    ...YES. It is easily the biggest duck in the history of Boxing.

    Yeah. The main contender would probably Dempsey-Wills. But Jack drawing the color line, despicable as such a thing is, was actually probably what his fans and most of the white public at that time wanted and he had no problems making money with other fights, to say the least, and his legacy has mostly been hurt in hindsight.

    For Wilder, this must be a bad blow to his legacy and standing with fans and he has no obvious opportunity to make nearly as much money with any other fight. But still he says "no, thanks"... I can't come to think of anything like it in boxing history.

    Don't know what's going to be said at the press conference, of course, but where does Wilder possibly go from here? According to that ESPN article he turned down a 30+ mil deal for two fights including a Fury rematch and now this? So fights with AJ and Fury seems to be off for the foreseeable future. Does that mean he's going to fights guys like Arreola while AJ and Fury settle who the man of the division is?

    He's been in prime position - being offered fights with both Fury and AJ - and is seemingly turning that into being a footnote. Him and WBC is going to be the laughing stock of the sport.

    Just weird.
