Hes wild, hes lacking in fundamentals, but in terms of actual sheer power, is he #1? Hes now weighing what CWs weigh in the ring, yet consistently KOing guys who outweigh him by 15lbs or more
This thread has been done 1000 times, Nobody know's its impossible to say, What we can say is that there is nobody that is clearly leagues ahead of anybody else, the top hard hitting guy's p4p are all pretty close.
The hardest puncher p4p is non other than Dustin "The Worm" Nicholls. His check jab is the only known mechanical action that can crack diamond.
Maybe Lemieux hits a little harder p4p, apart from that, I can't think of many who hit as hard. Lemieux's a similar case, a completely useless boxer and just relies on getting that one single shot.
I dont know about pound for pound, but he does hit harder than any other fighter in combat sports currently
Only reason I mention Wilder in particular, is that as a slight HW, hes KO'ing guys with large weight advantages. Sometime a lower division fighter may have extreme power but when they move up to the next division, its not so noticable
David Haye probably punches just as hard as Deontay Wilder. Unfortunately, his body is breaking down. If he is anywhere near what he was when he fought Dereck Chisora, then Haye's punching power would be as good as Wilder's.
Deontays punching power could fell a elephant or a very large primate. Nobody's beating the bronze bomber now!
