valuev was actually a decent fighter back in the day. when he started getting recognition is when he was starting to go downhill
No. Valuev had decent skills, huge size, and an unbreakable chin. He also earned his belt, and faced decent opposition.
Yeah that's Valuev's biggest issue, people remember him only for his few last fights, when he was already shot to bits due to his medical condition. In his prime Valuev was actually surprisingly fast
Roy Jones showed Valouev on HBO years ago, said that Valouev was really good fighter for his size. Valouev was better than Wilder, Valouev would knock Wilder out..............
Valuev for his size, was feather fisted. In his prime(?) he took 11 rounds of desperately trying to KO Monte Barrett before he got the job done. Valuev was a fraud, protected by Sauerland. He was undeniably beaten by Holyfield, robbed the belt off of Chagaev since he knew he would never win. He also ducked his mandatory Meehan and was comfortable with the WBA circle jerk between him, Chag and Ruiz. He chin was a myth too....he's been stunned by Haye, Bergeron, Bidenko and Barrett.
No, he wasn't................Haye ran like Hell, hardly landed any punches. Even the commentators said that Haye had to land punches to win the fight.................Haye landed one good punch, which did not bother Valouev................Valouev had a good chin. Barrett did not come near hurting Valouev....................Wilder had no chin and will not fight anyone.............................only voluntary fights...............
Totally different boxers. Valuev didn't fight against Klitschko brothers and we will never know his genuine position in HW 2000's. I think we can agree he was decent, but never tested 100%. We will see soon where Wilder belongs...Potential is here, I am worried about health issues. I hope he will be back soon.
