He's never been dominated and has beaten some great fighters (Mosely, Trinidad)....I thought he beat a prime Vargas as well as Taylor and the Hopkin's fight was still very close. But I still wonder if his credentials are Hall of Fame worthy. He never won any titles outside of 154, and never became the undisputed champion at junior middle. If he were to come back and somehow beat Abraham or Pavlik, my opinion would change but at this point, I'm not sure if his career merits HOF recognition. Thoughts?

I would not say that the Boxing HOF is as selective as the HOF's for the major North American sports (I don't know about European). That being said, yes I imagine he'll get in.

Abso Freakin Lutly ......... Damit Absolutly ....... Damit ........ Sorry, Im a little sensitive when it comes to Winky. Dont forget he also beat a prime Mosely twice as well as dominating Ike Quartay. Say what you want against small size, they agreed to fight and came in at the same weight. He was robbed against Vargas and Taylor so if he was given his just do he would have two less losses. Also if people would actually stop ducking him (till this day)he would have cleaned divisions up. Winky = HOF. Even your boy Pavlik and DEla Hoya wont fight him.

In all fairness...that was not a "prime" Mosely he beat. Mosely was in his prime at 135 IMO and he never had any business at 154 anyways. Quartey? C'mon, far from his best days not to mention he took 5 years off after the Vargas fight. I like Wright but he's his own worst enemy nowadays....are people really ducking Wright or is he pricing himself out of every fight. I think its the latter.

He's never been an exciting guy to watch and he's grossly overrating his marketablility....you can't turn your nose up at paydays that don't meet your standards when you can't even put fans in the seats. Its a shame because boxing purists can appreciate his techinical brilliance, but his lack of power bores the **** out of the casual fan. Noone is ducking Wright, he's just pricing himself out of every potential fight and he's not really in the position to be too demanding right now....he doesn't even have a title for ****s sake. :patsch

HMMM....first time I saw Wright fight was against Vargas back in 99' so you could very well be right about that. All I ever heard about his career prior to that fight was that he lost some bs decisions over seas.

Quartay had just came off one of his best performances against Forrest in a fight were to put it lightly ....... he was freakin robbed. For years Winky has been low balled against fighters knowing he wouldnt accept that after all he has worked for. I love when people say " I hate Winky, he's so boring". Last time I checked he doesnt run, blocks all punches ( which is probably a smart thing to do ) and doesnt clinch and throws alot of punches when not blocking. The thread says does he belong in the hall of fame and Im gathering you dont think so ..........:patsch :patsch
