Yep. He´s one of the few who was the real champ at his weight, beat some HoFs and is one of the top5 jmws of all time. So, yeah.
I'd say yes. Imo he beat Taylor and Simon and drew with Vargas and Hopkins. In any case though, no matter how you saw those fights going, Wright held his own in all of them. In only one fight throughout his whole career did he get a working over, against Vasquez, and that shows amazing consistency. His ledger would have looked even better with DLH to his name, but DLH wanted none of it. A fight with Pavlik this past year would have been interesting, though Winky is getting rather long in the tooth. Thought he showed signs of decline against Quartey and Hopkins.
Every American fighter who loses a bout overseas has some horror story about a bs decision or a premature stoppage or he opponent having something smeared on their gloves or a horseshoe inside them or being on drugs etc... They know 99% of fans in the States won't have seen these bouts so it's an easy way to sweep their losses under the carpet!
I agree for what it's worth, I think Winky is a sure fire hall of famer and one of the best of his era!
yeah http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pkAdHO4Xe20 [yt]pkAdHO4Xe20[/yt] [yt]nKGYioaLePw&NR[/yt] it was clear winky didnt have everything nailed down (especially his renowned defence) where as vazquez was a wrecking ball and was tipped to beat the divisions top man, norris. also i think only 2 kd were major others were just push on pike also a good example of a southpaw battle. the theory is the aggresive southpaw ALWAYS wins
Im pretty sure he won't, his top wins are over a once retired Trinidad and two wins over Mosley who was beaten by Forrest twice. Thats not enough, however if he were to fight Abraham or Pavlik and win, he would be considered a 3rd ballot HOF'er
