I don't find Hatton fights aesthetically pleasing at all. Sure he has been involved in some exciting fights but he's not an exciting fighter.
No, beating a never has been in Harris does not make you number 1. Like it or not Hatton is the officially and universally ranked number 1 at LWW.
I don't like the Hatton/Ruiz/Klitschko style at all. Fair enough if some people do, it's just not for me.
Yeah there's no denying he has been in exciting fights, more to do with his weaknesses than his strengths. Witter's got moe finesse and I'd rather watch that.
there's something fundamentally wrong when you can bottle out of a fight with the top contender to fight lesser opponents and still call yourself the top man at the weight.
All this talk has irked me to watch Tszyu Hatton again. What a horrible maul fest it was. How was Dave Parris allowed to ref the fight, I thought the ref had to be of neutral nationality?
That 'rule' went by the way side years ago. You get American refs working Yanks vs other nationalities all the time.
But you know what I mean though? Arthur Donovan used to ref most of Louis' defences at one time and that was in the day when refs scored as well. He turned in a couple of 'funny' cards.
No but I thought thats what you were trying to suggest. Cant believe we're comparing Hatton to Louis.
C'mon Dan, you mentoined that Vann and Parris had reffed too many of Hattons fights, I made an attempt at humour (complete with smilie at the end) trying to point out it had happened before with other boxers, Louis being the most well known. I didn't compare Hatton to Louis but no fighter, dirty or clean, should be allowed to have their pet ref. Even if Louis didn't commit a foul all fight you only have to look at Donovans cards compared to the other judges to see its not a good idea.
