Although there are obvious flaws, nice attempt at backing up an argument with statistics. Much better than typical comments that say how much Wlad sucks or Lennox couldn't hold Ali's jockstrap or Marciano would beat Tyson because Tyson was weak minded, etc...

For some reason, people just can't let go off the past and always think it's better than the present. There are always excuses. It's a neverending cycle it seems. In all genres from athletics to films to literature, etc.

On the subject of Wlad, he is probably underrated by most people. On the negative: He was starched twice (by big punchers in Brewster and Sanders, though he still got up after each knockdown, so he was never KTFO as many say) and his corner stopped the fight with Purrity (very early in his career), which was a great learning experience. And this is boxing, anyone can knock anyone out on any giving time or hurt them. Why else would it explain Ottke KTFO of Mundine, yet Mundine was able to go 12 with Kessler or Andrade taking massive punishment from Kessler, but getting dropped and rocked by Mack. People get hurt in boxing, that's why.

On the positive: He has all the tools in the world and is one of the more talented boxers around. His offensive skill set is one of the best we have seen in a HW in recent memory. The real knock on him is that he's a cautious fighter and doesn't get in wars like fighters do at lower weights or past HW greats did.

The major misconception today is that people don't realize that fighters today hit harder than they did 20 or 40 or 60 years ago due to a natural progression in human evolution. So that enabled guys like Marciano, Ali, etc. to take punches from sub-200 pound fighters easier than say a 235 pound Brewster.

You see this in all sports. Football, baseball and basketball players are much bigger and stronger in todays era. I guarantee the football field is much more punishing now than 10 or 20 years ago. You can also see it other sports suchas Track and Field, where the 100m World Record has been crushed twice in a span of two months or swimming where Michael Phelps is owning everyone or golf (ala Tiger Woods), Tennis (Roger Federer) and the list goes on.

Athletes are bigger, better, stronger and faster now than they ever have been and that trend will most likely continue. Obviously they are certain elements where skill set is better as seen in certain elite athletes such as Jordan, Sampras, SRL, SRR, etc..., but still we never seem to give enough credit to current fighters compared to past fighters. It's odd and ignorant.

And how dare me compare Ali's opponents to Wlad's opponents.

And how dare me comparing records. And how dare me comparing weights and sizes and KO rates.

Ali was so top he wasn't even a boxer, he was the Lord of the Rings. He could KO anyone just by THINKING, but in most cases he CHOSE not to, so that's how I could come up with the erronous conclusion that he was a featherfist.

The only reason this thread has this many replies is due to the madness of the topic. Klitshko, the kayo victim of Brewster, Sanders, and Purrity, is greater than Ali, the conqueror of Liston, Foreman, Frazier, Patterson, Norton, Lyle, Quarry, etc.

Wlad's fanboys have proven to be some of the most irrational fans out there.

KNN is merely the newest half-wit to join the club.

Yeah, my analysis faints compared with ALL THE OTHER analyses here that not only include unbiased opinionless calculations but also a time travel machine with which Klitschko & co have been transported into the past and have been KOed by Ali.

I can't be bothered reading the whole thread, but I must say that Wlad nuthuggers are their own worst enemy.

**** like this is the reason why you are all ridiculed.

I'm actually a Wlad fan, and I agree he is EASILY the best HW at the moment.
