No, I don't think he is. Sure he looks good against the current crop but consider Lewis's opposition here.....would WALDO have kept them at bay as easily as he did with bums like Chagaev and Iggy? I say no.

I agree that Lewis's opposition was better, but I don't think it's fair to call Klitschko's competition bums. Most of these guys are seen as bums after he beats them. Not so long ago Peter was being called the "savior" of the heavyweight division, Ibragimov and Chagaev were small but thought to have a chance. Calvin Brock was overrated, but people were even saying he had a shot. Lennox would have destroyed Wladimir, I think, but there are times when Klitschko fights near-perfect matches. He doesn't give you crushing knock-outs, but the skills he shows are very good.

As a bit of a Brock fan...I cannot recall anyone really rating him in the first place to tell you the truth.
    Most were underwhelmed by him.

NO. Every fighter at one point or another has struggled against a boxer or two during their career, but I can say that if both had to fight let's say the same boxers in their primes then I would say that Lennox would do better..... if they had to face for example boxers like Tyson and Frazer in their primes...... regardless of who would win the fight and how, I think that Lewis would do better against them than WK.

    Interesting topic.

I tend to think Wlad may be slightly better at it than Lennox > Steward. With Sdunek at the helm, Wlad put an awful lot more pressure on opponents and tried backing them up at all times. He just boxes w/ Steward and it is an effective style and not many heavies are capable of making a style adjustment and continue to win. Most lose whenever they change things just a little bit.

I think the Wladimir jab is slightly better than the Lewis jab. nobody walks thru it. Lennox jab was easier to counter. You just don't see guys landing right hands over that Klitschko jab. Ever. That's how he controls that range. Even a counterpunching master like Byrd could never counter that jab. And since it's so difficult to counter that jab, I think that makes things a small advantage to Klitschko in the range department with the difference between the 2 being slight. Legs are about the same.

Yeah, undefeated title holders are "bums" i guess... i wish those ******ed posters would stay in the general forum where they belong.

As for the thread topic, it's hard to judge because Lewis:
    -Faced better opponents
-Choose to fight in various ways, while Wlad's main objective is to control range

Wlad really isn't that fighter any more though. I mean, the change is really vast.

Wlad is definitely more consistent with the jab, but who are those guys consistently countering Lewis' jabs with right hands that you speak of? Of course it happens every now and then, but i would hardly say Lewis' jab was open to a right hand over the top.

They are not bums , neither are they great , or even very good ,imo.I said Peter was a clubbing bruiser without skills before he lost to Vitali ,a result I predicted on here,if you take the trouble to go through my posts.
I said Chagaev was moderate before he fought Wlad and predicted another Ibrgimov ,non competitve fight ,ditto my posts. That isnt hindsight ,or being clever the facts were there to see for anyone not wearing blinkers.
I think Lennox would ko Wlad ,the Ukrainian is very open to a right hand over his low left,he gets away with it agianst these moderate smaller guys ,but he would be made to pay against Lewis. That isnt the issue.Wlad has faster feet than Lennox imo.Lewis's footwork was a bit overated imo.
Head to head Lewis smokes Wlad inside 5rds.

Thats my take on this fight ,and also the Chagaev one, after a couple of jabs and two well placed crosses he fought to survive ,not to win imo.

I'd like to see him control range vs a Frazier, Tyson and Holyfield for the litmus test. Of course we won't be seeing that, well Evander maybe :hey
