He's clearly had a better career overall than Dempsey.

Dempsey was inactive, not defending the title often enough, despite there being several good contenders at that time he could have fought.

No YOU dont know **** about boxing, having a a 10 reign year over bums (and a few good fighters) does not qualify you as the ATG.

Muhammad Ali was and is the barometer of greatness, he is THE measuring stick of the GOAT. All knowledgable boxing people know that.

    Wladmir simply doesnt compare.

Ali, Frazier, Holmes, Foreman, Tyson, Holyfield, Bowe and Lewis would all beat Wladmir.

Hell, Vitali would most likely KO Wladmir too, so Wladmir isnt even the best heavyweight in his household, let alone of all time

Vitali has Wladmirs number, out of the of the two of them its Wladmirs career which has benefitted more because his best opponent happens to be his brother.

    That's not a factual statement.

What we do know as facts are that Wladimir has been champion 2nd longest (behind Louis) and with the 3rd most defenses (behind Louis and Holmes). He also has one of the best records in title fights ever (23-2).

Several ATG HW champs have lost to non-ATG fighters.

I never said it was a fact, i merely stated my opinion

True, those are amazing statistics, but is it also a coincidence that fighters with impressive records seem to have **** poor competition as well? guys like Wladmir, Vitali and Bowe to name a few.

None of the fighters are "bums" and several were worthy challengers.

Being champion for 10 years is incredibly difficult that is why there has only been 1 guy to ever do it.

thank you for valuable contribution, now go find the nearest cliff and jump off, maybe you can time yourself to see how long it takes for you to hit the bottom?

Povetkin, Peters, Haye, Byrd, Chambers were good wins, (note good, not great) the rest were garbage.

As i mentioned earlier, having **** poor opposition might be a benefactor when looking at long reigns.

Holmes reign was long and just as bad, Bowe has an impressive record, but apart from Holyfield, the rest of his opponents were pretty ****, especially considering the names available at the time. Vitali is another one, great stats on paper, but who did he beat? he lost to the two biggest names on his CV.

What about Louis, Ali and Holmes? They have amazing statistics because they were great champions.

Are you really going to say that everyone that Wladimir has fought over the past 10 years were "bums"? Regardless of how many people go to other sports (e.g., football and basketball) there will always be people that want to fight. Always has been, always will be.

There were other good wins besides the ones that you listed (Thompson, Chagaev, Wach [on steroids], Ibragimov [not entertaining, but dominant].

There are plenty of challengers that look to be the part coming within the next few years (Wilder, Stiverne, Pulev, Fury, Jennings, Joshua, etc.)

If you compare Holmes/Louis/Ali/Lewis' reign with Wlads you will see it is very comparable.

I never said they were ALL bums, i mentioned a few off the top of my head.

Yes Wladmir has many good wins, but Ali has many GREAT wins, thats the difference.

If Wlad was to beat Fury, Stiverne, Wilder and Chisora and Joshua, i would have a ton more respect for him and id rank him much higher.

The reason i put Chisora is, i wanted to see how Wlad deals with that kind of pressure fighter. Before the fight with Vitali people were completely writing off Chisora, but he proved people wrong, i want to see how Wlad deals with that kind of pressure

I said yes, even though he falls just short for me personally. But he is certainly in the discussion, and I think a strong case can be made anywhere from 8th through 12th for Wlad.

Having your best win as Byrd and Peter do not make you a top 20 heavyweight all time.

Just the modern rocky marciano. Born at the right place right time, but nothing great about him.
