Is Wladimir Klitschko a top ten ATG heavyweight?

Well two of those fighters, Foreman and Tyson have already admitted they would likely lose to Wlad due to his size and strength advantages. Foreman in his twitter account talks to his fans and repeatedly admitted that both Wlad and Vitali have much better boxing technique than his limited boxing skills. Tyson has repeatedly stated for over 5 years now that the Klitschkos are both very talented and that he would likely lose to both modern day giants. Holmes was a terrific fighter but he got defeated twice by a light heavyweight and nearly knocked out by the hapless Reynaldo Snipes. Wlad uses a style that works for him and could probably care less about your opinion.

How exactly do we know that? Just because you said so or there is a reasonable argument behind that?

It's a very predictable style: If you can't catch Lennox or Wlad for the knockout, and the odds overwhelmingly say you can't (with rare exception), you will lose.

Tyson and Foreman have never said they'd lose to the Klitsckos, they have given them credit.

And what do you expect from great retired fighters? if they came on the air and said they'd beat the Klitsckos people like you would be up in arms.

He just became no.3 actually after Bradley lost.

Mayweather has been p4p NO.1 for 8 years straight. He is better than Wlad in every single facet of boxing.
Better record, accomplishments, opponents and never lost a fight. He has beaten 12-15 more world champions than Wlad. His skills and talent make Wlad look like an amateur.
He has carried boxing for the past 10 years and broke record viewing numbers while Wlad murderd his division and had to dropped down to obscure sports channels.
    Mayweather >>Eternity >> Wladimir Klitschko.

With all that to Floyds name he is still not even a top 10 ATG welter and you're trying to tell me Wlad is top 5 of his? Get outta here kid.
Ottke done more numbers in Germany than Wlad did.:patsch

Are you putting words in people's mouths now. Its called being humble and gracious, jackass. They never said they would lose.
Mike Tyson won't even teach anybody to throw a punch these days.
Pathetic to even make such an arguement.

Prime Tyson would of destoryed Wlad.

why make up stuff about the Ks?

noone tries to pretend that joe louis was a dancing master or that Ali was a knockout specialist or that Jack Johnson was a great role model. SO why some mfs gotta invent attributes for the K bros?

The Ks have great longevity and role model status, but guys who get killed in 150 seconds by a retired neverman or stoped by a middleweight they naturally outweight by nearly 100 pounds are never going to be great H2H or top ATGs. SO stick to praising what they do have instead of makgint them look stupid with impossible claims.

Praise them for coming back from adversity/injury, for being good citizens and lasting so long for such big men. but dont invent crap.

I just have a really hard time respecting a guy who enjoys physical advantages over nearly everyone he has ever fought, but has the heart and physical make up of a frightened child!!! Wlad complete with his suspect chin, "get off me jab" and constant bear hugging.

Newsflash, just about every great fighter has enjoyed physical advantages over their opponents. Be it height, size, strength, speed, the great fighters are great because they are greater than their foes.

Wlad is definitely stronger now and has better endurance. This seemed to come about the time Steward started training him. Wlad's weakness is his chin. It is not great. Most opponents can't get to it, though. I am surprised more guys haven't been able to get to it. If I were training a guy about to fight Klitschko I would focus on getting to that chin. Whatever it takes, ducking, winging it, whatever, just as long as my guy gets a shot or two in on his chin. That is the way you slay the dragon.

I think there are two X-factors between guys planning on it and being able to execute it- Wlad's power and footwork are exceptional.

I'd be shocked if the gameplan you mention isn't the first option of practically every Wlad opponent. The problems are that it's not easy to get to him and you have to take some real punishment to get there.

I think, also that Wlad's chin is a little more durable now. He's built up a lot of muscle around the neck and traps as he's gotten older. Look at photos in his mid-twenties during the post-fight interview after he beat undefeated Jameel Macline. He was a lot skinnier then especially in the neck and traps. Some boxing experts claim you can't improve chin durability but George Chuvalo thought a bigger neck and shoulders helped take a big hit. I do know Wlad took a massive punch from Powerpunching Peter in the first round of their second fight. Landed right on Wlad's chin and yes Wlad's head snapped back and his knees stiffened momentarily but he then just continued to return fire. Not sure a younger Wlad wouldn't have been knocked down by that blow.
