Maybe Thompson is 6'4 either way even if Wlad was actually a full 6'7 it changes nothing.

Look. I don't care about the mans height. This is stupid. The point is, all of the examples given in the original post are IDIOTIC because they all use EXTREME cases (not the norm) to make their point.

This was all I have said from page 1.

If you think otherwise you either don't know the names that were brought up, or must be a bit thick.

I like Wlad, he is a good boxer, but would probably find it difficult were he not so tall.

Thats all. The latter is my opinion but if you think you can PLEASE refute the first point in this post.

Ali had almost a 1 foot reach advantage over Quarry. Was that unfair?

If you don't care , your welcome to **** off?

People seem to be awfully happy to come in and pick on the fact I said that most people, (not even me) see him as this and that

But on the actual point I made about the thread, which everyone wanted to high 5 the idiot threadstarter for, people in active debates with me go quiet all of a sudden?

Try to use the proper spelling of you're when insulting me.

Anyway, the original poster made some good points. Sure some may have been skewed because of outliers, but it was a good sample size. If any heavyweight, or heavyweight fan for that matter, feel Wlad is at an advantage, they need to get a reality check.

These are heavyweights. If you are 6'3 or taller, then stop bitching. If you are under 6'3, get a nutritionist and cut down to LHW or CW. It's as simple as that. There are dudes whom are 6'2 or 6'3 and have arms longer than Wlads or guys who are his height.

IF THAT FIGHTER WASN'T THAT TALL
IF THAT FIGHTER WASN'T THAT FAST
IF THAT FIGHTER DIDN'T PUNCH THAT HARD
IF THAT FIGHTER WASN'T THAT AGILE

Dude, every champion fighter has physical/natural advantages that they have in boxing, that they are born with. The moment you hold it against them, you're reaching really hard.

LOOK at all the other tall guys in boxing. They can't box for crap. They're not as skilled as Wladimir. Being skilled in fighting is not a natural advantage. You train for that.

Good point, reach is an advantage just as much, or even more so, than being tall...

Right, but physical advantage (height/size) does means something, if the other things are equal...............OBE, I think its called)

Two guys are equal in every aspect, except size. ANd one is 6 inches taller.

Who has the advantage? Obviously, the one that is bigger.

But that said, Wlad and Vitali are the ONLY cases in boxing history where someone over 6 foot 5 is also as talented as the regular sized heavies. So they are not only rare, they are the only two of their kind.

But yes, size advantage IS a great asset that they utilize to its fullest potential. Gotta be truthful about it.
