The P4P list may have gotten away from itself...Pavlik basically ended up on the list by beating a previous guy on the list.

    The list is meaningless anyways.

Pavliks success is to do to his work rate and power. Not his height. He still has a weight limit to adhere to, Klitschko does not.

Wlad had the height and the atheltic but also the boxing skill like Lennox Lewis. Lewis won fights because of his size and his boxing skills. Same is Wlad.

Wlad's fought lots of guys his own size. Austin, Thompson, Mcline,
Jefferson were all Wlad's size and he had some of his most
dominant victories over these huge dudes. They weren't his equal
athletically so that's why he is unique and a multi-belt champion.
Heavyweights are rarely put into the P4P top ratings as there is
a bias against the big fighters. They are considered too slow and
ponderous to be compared to smaller fighters but Wlad has great
technical skills and has fast accurate hands. I hope he gets into
the top P4P rankings after he beats Povetkin.

i still don't know. haven't seen jefferson but of those mentioned only mccline is close to his equal athletically so it's hard to tell from the examples you provided (especially because mccline fought so scared vs wlad). also austin is completely ordinary and thompson had his moments and made it a fight for a while and he's not much more than ordinary.

Well, Wlad's haters are more dedicated than probably any other fighters haters.

They see completely red and their hemoroids open up when they hear his name.

But objectively - well, yeah he should probably be top 10 p4p.

He should be, i think at the moment he would have a 50/50 chance of beating a prime lewis. But the media, wont allow him to be exposed to the public beacause he doesnt play to the rules, as to what a fighter should look like. If he lost to a american, it would be propagated that he was just a another white hype. But he wins...........

Again, it all comes down to what is more important for you to consider when judging P4P... I personnally rate accomplishments as the only important criteria to get in there.. Klitschko is on the verge of being in there quite soon ! He has done almost everything you could ask of a heavyweight fighting in this era.

If you look at what Wlad's been doing in his own division and compare it to others than you have a case for putting him top 10.

If you judge by putting everyone at an equal weight and saying whose the best.

Then no way would Big Bad Wlad make it.

A lot of Wlad's success comes from using his size advantage.

    No, and he shouldn't be.

    1) He's a BIG heavyweight. P4P doesn't only work by weight classes, it's POUND for POUND. He's a good 10 - 15% bigger than his opponents, which makes it tougher to rank him on P4P lists.

    2) In his entire career, he's won three fights against top 5 HWs at the time, and he's lost three fights to gatekeepers / fringe contenders. He hasn't even had a prolonged win streak. It's hard to see how you could possibly rank him ahead of a guy like Calderon or Guzman even.

    3) Even if you ignore the P4P part, his actual accomplishments are much less than the guys who actually are in the P4P top 10.

If anything you said was true, it would still have no bearing on the situation.

Is "the Ring" hatin' on him...???...people with nothing to contribute to the debate, typically rather talk about the debaters, "haters"...:nut

I've been very impressed with Wlad's transformation since Steward took hold of him. I know there are some people who will criticize me for saying this (including some Klitschko fans who don't like Steward), but I only say what I see. His foot work is phenominal now for a big man his size. His hand speed is super fast for his size too. His defense is getting so much better, vbery tough to touch him. He fights at angles, and hooks off the jab better than anyone in any weightclass, and hides his right behind the jab just as well and as much, that I have to put him in my P4P list. But, he's the only heavyweight that should be there.
