I personally think he might be.

    All the signs are there.

I’ve seen him get hit flush in the face by a journeyman and he took the shot well. If he had a genuine glass chin he would have crumbled. At LHW we have elite bangers. Beterbiev, Kovalev, Bivol, Stevenson, Johnson, Gvozdyk... if these guys hit Yarde flush or anyone for that matter they are going down. Doesn’t mean they have a glass chin. LHW fighter’s come into the ring at 190ish. They are small Cruisers really. Even a guy like Joe Smith can put someone to sleep and if he does it, doesn’t mean they have a glass chin.

Yarde having such an open defence that he is getting hit flush by journeyman added to the fact he isn’t stepping up and still facing unknown stiffs...is the kind of career trajectory we have already seen.

It’s the kind of career that points to a devastating knock out loss “once” he does step up above stiff level.

    Seen it too many times.

Promoters and managers make this error too many times. Perhaps they go down this route because they know their prospect isn’t the goods- but it always leads to one result.

Yarde is getting cleaned out when he steps up. Only so many Hungarian and South American stiffs with dodgy records you can face, and still pass the straight face test. His high ranking plus his low level of competition stinks....

If he was completely glass then he would have been dropped by now, like Khan was. But his open defence and lack of fundamentals is getting him
    stopped.

I'm not sure I would go that far but his team must have definitely seen defensive frailties that would probably get badly exposed if he was to step up against someone in the top 20.

When you think you’re the best thing since sliced bread and believe your own hype you take things for granted and get the biggest shock ever and this is a huge one waiting to happen. CEJ...Audrey Harrison....Bakole are some examples.

    It's definitely a possibility.

When you've been matched as carefully as Yarde has then it usually means one thing.

I've also heard that they refuse to spar top contenders also. Very bizarre.

    No.

Would love to see people show example's of this theory.

He was taking shots yesterday pretty clean and didn't even look like he had a scratch on his face.

There’s nothing to suggest that he has a glass chin at this point.

Who knows with the guys he's been in with!
This could COULD end up being the real deal but no idea at this stage because he is just not being stepped up a she should be and is being heavily hyped

Apart from every guy he’s matched with has an extremely low KO ratio.

    Sek 29%
    Sjelocka 28%
    Averlant 13%
Nemesapati 56% (loss KO ratio of 67%)
Sequeria 58% (loss KO ratio of 50%)
Barayani 57% (loss KO ratio of 100%)
    Hobbs 0%
    Snow 0%
    Albert 34%
    Johnson 17%

Chilemba could be next. On a clear decline, lost 4 of his last 5 since the bomber snatched his soul and only had 30% KO ratio. Saying that he’s only been stopped once and they want to keep this fraud train going as some KO artist so that will probably rule him out.

Fighting guys who have a low KO percentage doesn’t prove anything about whether Yarde May have a glass chin.

As you know, low level opponents don’t generally carry massive digs
So the whole thread is slightly silly anyway IMO.

That reads to me as a fairly respectful CV in respect of Yarde being so early in his career still.

Do you have a problem with Buatsi fighting no-one with more than a 50% KO ratio then? Even Burton is on 48%.

If Buatsi is fighting a fighter with a 13% KO ratio is 7 fights time I’d be suspecting him of having a glass chin too.

The difference here is nobody is questioning Buatsi's chin because in half the amount of pro fights he is now taking on a fighter much better than anyone Yarde has faced (and better than Yarde himself tbh).

Yarde is the most protected and coddled fighter in boxing today.
