Ever since he left Top rank what has he done ? Rumors are are he is heading to Mexico ..How does a fighter with such an amateur pedigree just become so inactive ..He's starting to remind me of Andre Dirrell with his inactivity !Anyone else agree ?

He shouldn't have jumped weight classes. He's too small and doesn't have the power anymore. He's got glass in his jaw, too. Someone is gonna hurt him soon.

Gamboa's promoter should change his name from 50 cents to 25 cents...:-(

The promotional issues, dubious career choices, and roids, have rendered Gamboa almost irrelevant. It's a shame.

He ruined his career by dropping the bout with Rios

it was a very winnable match that could have propelled him to stardom

now he's black marked and stuck with a **** promoter, wasting away his career with no meaningful fights on the horizon

I bet he feels like an idiot now

Gamboa went from the hottest prospect to non existant. Everytime i see him fight, i didn't even know he was fighting that day.

His waste of talent was easily predictable after the Salido fight. You just knew he was going to be inactive, he got in a promotional nightmare of bad decisions, and what he has done in the time frame since is ridiculous for someone who was once so well thought of and hasn't lost a fight ever. Sort of crazy. I always felt Gamboa was slightly overrated and overhyped in terms of people thinking he was going to be a P4P Top Ten mainstay.

Funny thing is Top Rank/SMS & HBO need someone like him more than ever now, after looking at what GBP & Showtime are up to, these guys need to pull their fingers out, how about a co-feature at 135 with Gamboa vs Beltran & Crawford vs Baby Bull Diaz, winner fights winner.
