HE didnt look much better than matt hatton ( rickys brother) in outpointing this journeyman. and matt is viewed basically as a domestic level fighter in britain. judah on the other hand is supposed to be world class. did the kockout to cotto break him????
Judah was never world class IMHO. It takes more then beating Corey Spinks in my eyes. You become WORLD CLASS with consistent BIG WINS against the TOP GUYS, not ONE which gives you three belts you lose right away...
I don't buy that Cotto ruined him, the problems were there way before the Cotto fight. He has turned into a 6 rounds fighter at this point in his career, he can give you hell for 6 rounds or so, but if you weather the storm and pressure him; he will fold.
Judah was toying with this guy...Matt Hatton was in the fight of his life by far not dominating... You can see Judah in there trying new things in the ring like THE NO EXISTANT body attack that he was wearing his guy down and not trying to blast him out. Judah was testing himself in there.....MORONS>
Exactly. He was just getting rounds in. When he decided he wanted to stop the guy in the 8th, he almost did. Judah is not shot IMO, far from it.
Judah looked tentative in there, that's for damn sure. He shoulda took this cat out, but for whatever reason he didn't really go for it outside of one round. Be it the hand, the cut, whatever, no excuses for not KO'ing this guy, but he ain't shot, and could still give most top guys hell.
Christ, you guys really don't get the idea of getting rounds in and trying new stuff against someone you can dominate, do you? It happens in both amateurs and pros. For example, I know a guy with over 150 amateur fights who went to the Olympic Trials this year, and he went the full 4 rounds with someone in his 5th fight earlier this year. Does that mean he sucks or is no good? No; he was trying to get ring time in to stay sharp and work on stuff he wanted to work on.
Getting rounds? Sticking to a game plan throughout a fight? Going 10 without having some sort of meltdown and staying focused on the fight?
LOL @ the obvious judah prejudice... comparing this fight to the matt hatton fight is astounding logic... matt hatton was in there fighting his ass off to win that fight - judah was toying w/ this dude and had his hands dropped for enitre round (round 6)... the only reason there was no knockout was because judah's opponent chose not to take any real risks and instead just wanted to survive 10 rounds... judah showed poise and showed he could box for a full fight w/ out losing stamina. good showing by Zab.
