I don't think Zab Judah is even really considered a counter-puncher. Who else are the counter-punchers that Floyd has fought?
Probably Corley was the one you actually call dedicated counter puncher I guess..even though he was an average one...He got his arse kicked most of that fight, used whatever talent and skill he had just to make the final bell..But had a fleeting moment with his specialty of sucking his opponant in and nailing him with something they dont see coming. Goyo could play the role but not against someone like Floyd. Pep tried to make Mayweather come to him..he had a few cm on Floyd..but he really was just a lanky **** with basic stand up skills. Floyd gave it to him, though Tony landed the odd counter left hook that had basically no effect on Floyd. But Floyd is the kind of fighter who has the speed of hand and foot that negates such a style a lot of the time.
its not normal for 2 world class counter punchers to exist at the same weight class around the same time zab is probably the best counter puncher floyd could have faced in his career.... with respect to his skill level at the time he faced zab
for me floyd is a great fighter who has a few question marks that I would like to see answered. Fighting JMM will answer one of them.
