That's because he's been on an excellent run. He's pretty good. Don't make the mistake of thinking he doesn't have any power with that 45%. He's just been in with some tough guys.
Anyone seen the Oosthuizen fight? Team Bolling rated him very highly...probably because he beat their boy.
Fun fighter, got some skills. Good jab and judge of distance, decent pop. Check out his fight with Maxim Vlasov, fun fight.
On the contrary, he used to be a v boring fighter til the Oosthuizen fight...was v defensive minded but stil has good skills and decent pop!
His most recent fight was on ESPN FNF against Edison Miranda. . . He won a clear, but actually somewhat close decision. . . Not really that close, but there were 4, or 5 rounds where Miranda was really testing him . . I would have expected a top tier prospect to easily pick apart this version of Miranda, but Miranda is still one tough dude with a powerful right hand. . . He looked pretty solid, but to be honest, nothing special. . . I don't see him beating any of the top guys at LHW, with the exception of Shumenov, or possibly Cleverly. . But I think even Shumenov would prolly beast him out, and Cleverly woudl outbox him. Keep an eye on him, though. . . I plan on following him, and see where he goes.
I haven't seen that fight, but I plan on checking it out. . . Oozy is a pretty decent prospect as well @ 168 (Chilemba is now @ 175). . . I think Oozy might have a little more upside, since he's still at 168, and he's a 6'4'' southpaw.
I had it a 94-94 draw (both were docked a point for rabbit punches), but if either man were to have it swung his way Chilemba was probably more deserving of a narrow victory. And tbf, Miranda boxed better that night than he ever did during his previous two stages of his career (as unbeaten punching prospect, and then as repeat contender with middling success)
