Chilembe beats Aussie

Isaac Chilembe (15-1; 5) from Malawi beat Australian Michael Bolling (12-1; 10) on points in a clash for the vacant IBO super-middleweight belt.

The scores were 119-109 on two cards and 119-108 on the third.

Chilembe was a late replacement for Tommy Oosthuizen, who was injured in a road accident.

Chilemba was always going to be a tougher ask than the walk up robotic Oganov.
Must have been fairly decisive going by the scores.
Bolling should have learned a lot from this one.

 

I was unsure how he'd go, but was hoping he'd get the win. He will learn a lot from the experience, and will come back strong I'm sure. It will be interesting to see who they go after for his next fight

Fighting at altitude might have taken it out of him. Good luck for stepping up though, he'll learn from it.

 

A shut out does seem odd after the way he punched non stop against Oganov to stop him.
