Isaac Chilemba...won my respect

I like the guy, reminds be of Campillo, just less fluid and more durable.

 

Boring, one dimensional, awkward and untidy. A blown up Paul McCloskey. Yawn!

 

Yeah really decent well spoken chap.Bellews arsehole tactics probably payed off for him as if anything Chilemba seemed to show the dickhead too much respect during the opening rounds.I think all the hardman knock out artists prefight **** talk probably prevented Bellew from getting knocked out himself as I'm pretty convinced that being a clear level above Bellew if Chilemba had opened up early and sustained the at times brilliant boxing he is more then capable of knocking Bellew out.The rematch is a walk in the park for chilemba

Not the greatest to watch, but seems like a top bloke.

 

Bottom line is he made Tony Bellew (who rates himself as a smashing machine) look like shite. And if he's turned up a couple of rounds earlier then he's have won it comfortably

 

First few rounds he was just running, his gameplay was to not get hit, didn't look like he had any intention of fighting. Around the 6th or 7th when Bellew stepped off the gas he looked like he controlled it more. Saying that, I was falling asleep..

 

Pure class.

Guy that is actually from nothing fighting to support his extended family because his mother has died

He won me over ...not really with his style... But his manners and behaviour afterwards.

As a fighter though he needs to be more proactive. definately better man than bellew on the night

 

His undoing was only being a tad too sure if himself in terms of having no real urgency as if he knew his skills were better and that he would get the win regardless. It looks like he's not trying. And he was the better boxer, very hard to hit, more composed, showed no nerves or fear, Bellew's hard man act just got laughed off. He showed Bellew up for a bit of a dick really.

If he learns to become more aggressive and gains some urgency to his work then he could be a very good fighter indeed. He looks a level above Bellew skill wise anyway.

 

I think he'd already proved himself world class before this fight,against Vlasov and Oosthuisen.Obviously,Bellew didn't help himself by saying to him that he knew he'd lost the fight,but how many of us have been in HIS position.The disappointment of drawing when he thought he'd won and doing interviews after 12 rounds,in his own city.Agree with you that Chilemba acted with great class.Maybe his background just enabled him to realise it wasn't such a great tragedy.Dont think its impossible that either man could be champion in the future.

 

Talented fighter but I think he lacks in terms of combination punching and punch delivery. Basically struggles to put the finishing touch to his all-round ring generalship.
