This content is protected Just having some fun with my madeup scoring system. It would be awesome to see these two run it back. Hope you guys like the video. Oh yea by mistake I put 2022 in the intro its should say 2021.
You may be interested in amateur boxing. Pro boxing is based on who hurts their opponent more. Amateur boxing is based on who lands more punches.
Cruz won in that department as well. Nothing Tank landed upside that cinderblock of a head of his had any effect. Tank on the other hand was stunned several times.
I'm not arguing about the result of Tank vs Cruz, but his scoring system. Anybody who has ever been in a boxing match knows that the amateur approach is insane for judging fights. In a boxing match, I could let this guy hit me five times, and hit him with two good shots, and he would change his mind on his scoring system. Amateur scoring is only for building skills. "Numbers don't lie" is one of the easiest to believe lies in the world. Axis is more important than anything.
Not entirely sure this is always true. Pacquaio floored Marquez 3 times in round 1 of their first fight, hurting him clearly. But Marquez beat the brakes off him with boxing skill without hurting him for the remainder of the fight and should have won. I think its probably a mixture of both
Pro boxing is scored round to round, not by overall damage. Ie who scores more damage in a round (or lands a knockdown) wins the round.
No, as far as the score goes, it is quite black and white. Whoever does more damage or gets the knock down wins the round. Boxing is scored round to round. There is no grey in that.
To address your points: Nobody calls 10 point must amateur (I know you didn't say they did) and nobody calls amateur "amateur before 2016" (also, I'm sure you have your year wrong as when I began boxing the amateur system was already abandoned for 10 point must) All modern pro boxing for titles follow the ten point must system. Mayweather did hurt his opponents more than they hurt him round to round in almost every fight he had. Remember, cumulative damage over rounds, ie a very good round, doesn't get you any extra points 9/10 times.
This might surprise you but boxing doesent have just 1 singular international way on how to score boxing and they all have similarities. My method of scoring is a hybrid and then I added my own rules. If boxers only win if they hurt their opponent then Mayweather wouldent have won the majority of his fights because he won by out boxing and out landing. I have 8 rules to my method of scoring and I never posted them on this forum ( on youtube) so you saying my method is like amature because I give a point for landed leaves out the other 6 catogories which a fighter can earn points that amateur doesent use. Like I said all scoring I was trying to edit that post before you replied and I messed it up. Lol.
My point is this..all boxing scoring systems have similarities and my method actually has more differences than similarities.
