I don't think a draw is a robbery. But to a get a draw, you'd have to give Pitbull all four of the the first four rounds, three of which were close, and the last two, which also were close. That's giving Cruz every benefit of the doubt on five swing rounds.

To give him a win you'd have to also give him round five or nine. I think either of those is incorrect, but two judges still gave Cruz the 9th. I don't think Cruz had much a case for winning.

They can just have a rematch unless Davis decides he wants to fight again. Roach should stay out of 130 at his current size though.

 

I wonder what real time data it based this on. If some data told it it would be a draw then the scorecards it came up with are the least surprising part for me, its simply math. I am curious to know how it came to the conclusion that it would be a draw.

IMO, AI will probably end most of gambling. The predictive models will become too good and kill the bookies.

Didn't see the fight my boy did and he said roach got ****ed again. Seeing it online saying it as well.

I had it 114-112 Roach, having him edge the 2nd and 5th, along with winning 6-10 pretty clearly.

But the draw verdict certainly wasn't a robbery, since Cruz had a case for winning 2 and/or 5. Then again, Roach had a case for winning round 11, as he controlled most of the frame. For me, an acceptable range of cards would have been 115-111 Roach to 114-112 Cruz. A close win either way wouldn't have bothered me. And a draw is fine. and in honestly, probably the outcome that best reflects the fight that unfolded last night.

 

I cant remember if it was the 8th or 9th that could have gone to Cruz as well. It was a fight with lots of close rounds and the judges cave a good verdict.
Of course Roach immediately started playing victim due to how his last fight went, and then there was the PBC crew.

 

The crying about this decision is nuts. If the scores were 116-112 or something like that I'd agree it would be bad. There were quite a few rounds that were basically even, few rounds were obvious one way or the other. And claims of ref cheating were out of line. Cruz hit Roaches nuts twice and was warned then he hit the legs and hips several more times. The majority draw was reasonable.

My Mom's parents lived in Arlington. Fort Worth seemed like an old school Texas city.. Dallas came off as a massive trendy new age city...definitely a huge difference... Arlington was basically a Massive suburb.

 

Now I'm in Austin...different again. Then San Antonio is different then Houston is different. Funny that they all have their own culture.

 

I personally love Texas. The one thing that really stood out to me was how spaced out it is. Dallas area wise is almost twice the size of Philly yet has about 300k less people. I absolutely can't stand how congested it is up here.
