Have to say, I am very impressed with his appearance at this weight. I don't think he'll be able to do anything, but he certainly isn't a slob at 200+.
He looks too small for Cruiser, most Cruisers come in the ring closer to 220 & walk around 240 He looks like a big Light Heavyweight Wait... He looks as big as former Light Middleweight star Julio Cesar Chavez jr....I see where the inspiration came from :think
Personally I'm a fan of fighters fighting at their walk around weight, so if Ishida is able to add another 10-15lbs of natural weight he'll have a really good chance against Kyotaro
I'd say almost certainly. He was able to take several of GGGs power shots before being nailed by that perfect OH R. Also, Ishiida was boxing very, VERY well early in the fight. I think Ishiida would win some rds if GGG let him come into the fight at no weight limit. I think eventually, GGG would land a similar shot all the same, and the result would likely be the same. But I figure there'd have to be some accumulation to put him down like that again as a HW/CW.:think
Just found out that as an amateur Ishida was a decent puncher, his record in the unpaid ranks is reported to be 99-15 [48]
The reason why this is a big story is because Ishida was a junior middle weight only two years ago...
According to a report from one Japanese news site this will be Ishida's final year as an active fighter.
