Ishida will win (this is subject to the inevitable biased judging, of course). Williams was an HBO hype train from day one. Glad I never fell for it.
its was OK. better fight was the mediocre Quintana giving williams a boxing lesson in their first fight. The KO is fight 2 was a good example of when williams can be dangerous.
Williams will probably cruise to a wide UD in this one. Ishida is pure garbage who has beaten exactly one notable opponent and that is Jelly Jaw James Kirkland who has the worst Chin in Boxing today. Williams is also in possession of a Frangible Mandible but it is nowhere near the level of suck that Kirkland's is and he will probably be able to style on Ishida, who as I said before, is complete ****.
he's been fighting on hbo since 2006 and was gifted a "house fighter" decision against martinez in their first fight.
A bit harsh, no? WIlliams was a good fighter for a number of years. Usually in exciting fights, but had some big time flaws that ended up being exploited by other good fighters. I never heard anyone proclaiming him an atg or anything. I still think he beats Ishida.
No, not harsh. Williams eventually got some big money fights and gift decision and was touted as a guy who was being avoided by the best. and all this after he was blatantly outboxed by Quintana, who made him look like an amateur.
Williams will win this quite comfortably imo.I agree the judging was way off in the first Martinez fight, but Williams is a decent fighter and will have too much for Ishida. Too much emphasis being placed on Ishida's win over overhyped Kirkland.
he was a network fighter for years and given the immediate rematch to his embarrassing loss and got a gift decision courtesy of the man.
Maybe we have different definitions of hypejob then. The guy was a multi weight titlist. He beat some good fighters. He may be done, his style did him no favors in terms of longevity, but when he was on top of his game, he was tough.
