Islam vs Volk ; Usman vs Khamzat discussion

Shows the difference between boxing and UFC. To have 2 late pull outs and replace them with this calibre is something else.

Can’t wait. I think Khamzat will stop Usman. Too big. You have to heavily favour Islam but I would love it if Volk did it. Can never write him off

 

These are crazy matchups. Can't wait for this weekend.

 

Crazy card, but very hard to say when it's so short notice. A Usman fully prepared Usman pre the last two losses would beat Chimaev even at 185 I think, but right now it's very hard to know what we're going to get. Volkanowski is of course also a question mark coming in this late. If he had had a full camp I would slightly favour him, but impossible to say now.

 

Is it only 3?

Both of these fights are fairly hard to predict.

The first fight between Islam and Volk was very close and Volk closed stronger. Islam was sharper early on, but he tired near the end. I think Volk is going be more aggressive early and take the fight to Islam to tire him out faster. I think it's a 55/45 fight in favor of Islam.

Usman vs Chimaev is a great match up. I actually favor Usman slightly 55-45 in this fight. The reason is because he's more proven at the top level and he is a bit sharper with his striking. I don't know if the Edwards fights made him more tentative, but if he is in top form, he would beat Chimaev, who I think is still a bit unproven. Chimaev is definitely a good fighter, a good striker and good grappler, but we'll see how good he is tonight.

Exciting night of fights.

 

War Volk, I think this time his speed will be the difference. I think Chamaev should be able to outwrestle Usman for the UD, possible stoppage via submission.
