    2-1 Usman. I like Usmans ability to outstrike Chamaev that last round, but even though Chamaev was able to get the takedown he wasn't as dominant on the ground. Usman did the better work in rounds 2 and 3 imo.

    I'm a Khamzat fan but I feel Usman just edged that and deserved to win 2-1

    The fight kind of went how I expected. I thought it was close to a 50-50 fight and I was right.

    Honestly, the fight could have gone either way. You can make a case for either guy.

    volk was acting crazy in the lead up. this isnt surprsing

    there's bravery then there's stupidity. he looked soft around the middle too.

    Dumb of Volk to take the fight on short notice when he was all but guaranteed it next year with a full camp .Not saying that's why he lost but it certainly can't have helped. Great kick by Makhachev but I felt the stoppage was a bit premature. Volk was probably done but I would;ve liked to see it go on a little longer especially given the importance of the fight and how anticlimactic the rest of the card was.

    I came in here to say the exact same thing.

    2 weeks notice is just stupidity from a fighting perspective. He was in poor condition. He was never going to beat a champion a division above on 2 weeks notice. A guy who already schooled him in Australia.

    Now from a monetary perspective, who could blame him? You can't pass up that opportunity. If he didn't get a big pay day, I stand corrected!
