No I'd actually like to know more about the fight, is there footage of it? Same for Ortiz-Loche

 

I actually think PBF-Laguna is a real close fight, could go either way, but your attempts to make their resumes somewhat comparable is worth a good laugh, and a sarcastic comment from me :good

Floyd is faster and has better punch accuracy, but he is not as tricky as Locche nor as defensively good - a reason why Locche easily outboxed a guy like Cervantes whilst Mayweather struggled with a Castillo and an ancient DLH.

If Floyd was a natural 126 pounder and the fight occured at 126, as the Laguna fight did, I'd outright pick Saldivar to beat Floyd. He's a hell of a lot better than Castillo and Hatton.

 

Just ignore these sweet scientist and sweet pea goofs, they are nothing but pernell nuthuggers that act like he's unbeatable and floyd is so beatable. Sweet Pea isnt that bad, hes a bit more objective, but that sweet scientist goof is just an old school sympathiser that hates modern fighters.

Mayweather is gonna beat marquez and then hes gonna beat pacquiao, which will give him a better overall resume than thier god known as whitaker. A 32 year old mayweather is going to beat two top p4p fighters, what was Whitaker doing at the age of 32? Getting a gift decision against Wilfredo Rivera, lol.

 

To be fair, winning one out of three against Loche, Buchanan and Ortiz in itself is fairly breathtaking. Those are some pretty awesome fighters, certainly more impressive than winning all four against Castillo, Sosa and N'Dou.

Me, I make it closer than most here, U say Lugana wins a decision. Floyd will be frustrated at not getting his own way in the ring; :aguna's movement is the key here IMO

If Floyd DID fight Saldivar at 126, and I assume that if 130 lb Floyd is going to have to get down there, Saldivar would bash his body up badly. I think Floyd would get stopped. If Saldivar comes up to 130 he gets stopped.

The only reason u say mcgirt/mayweather is a 50/50 fight is cuz u saw mcgirt win 4-5 rounds against ur golden boy in 1993. I'm sorry but the slow plodding vazquez that you love to overrate cuz he's a whitaker 'opponent', would get easily outboxed by Floyd. Floyd is not going to lose to somone like wilredo rivera. At least Floyd convincingly won the rematch against Castillo, Wilfredo won like 5 rounds against whitaker in thier rematch, haha. I remember watching it on satellite 6 months ago, rivera gave whitaker hell, what a joke.

 

Hmmmm........to be honest I think Saldivar's size could be a real problem for Mayweather. I think Floyd's more aggressive attitude in his early days could help him believe it or not. The thought of him using that shell he adopts more frequently now and attempting to counter Saldivar's body attack doesn't sound very nice....Floyd's arms and shoulders would get battered and he would get worn down.

On the other hand, Floyd's height and reach advantage, as well as footspeed could be the key. I would say the more he moves and the less he stands in front of Saldivar, the better chance he has of winning.

At a 128 lb catchweight I'd lean to Floyd (the same he favoured against Naseem Hamed) and at 130, I think Saldivar's diminutive stature fails to hold the weight well.

I am of course referring to a pre-comeback Saldivar.

 

Yeah and so what that if I did? Floyd gave an underwhelming performance and I felt it could have gone either way.

What a joke that an old Whitaker could land more on a prime DLH than an in his prime Floyd could on a 5 years past his DLH.

That and the fact that he's a tad better than Zab Judah who took 4 off Floyd and knocked him down in the process.

Floyd would never have the balls to even face Vasquez. You saw him run like a ***** against Baldomir and start stuttering at the thought of facing Margarito, he wouldn't get in the same ring with Vasquez.

Floyd lost 4 or 5 rounds to Castillo in the rematch anyway. And Whitaker was no longer in his prime when he fought Rivera, so if that's the best you've got keep searching. :good

Yeah and vazquez is so special right, please. He landed far more meaningfull shots against de la hoya than whitaker did, i could care less if pernell dropped him, it was more of a slip anyways. Everyone knows floyd beat him clearly, except you.

 

Saldivar was great against boxers like Laguna and Winstone, and even against Famechon and Legra when he was on the wane. I think Saldivar would have the edge in a p4p battle with Floyd, his aggression and skill in closing the range and getting to the body was excellent and his defense was quite good I thought on the whole.

 

Keep in mind with the Saldivar debate that Floyd always placed pressure on southpaws and elected to stay close, knocking down the right hands with his forearm and countering over the top with the left hand. Also, how would Sal respond to the right hand, which is Floyd's pride and joy?

 

He will keep winning as long as he chooses the right opponents. You think even now that Floyd would win all 12 rounds against a Cotto, Mosley???

I for one would like to see Floyd fight Paul Williams. I don't dislike Floyd, but I think his fanboys themselves should be 'Punished' :good
