Ismayl Sillakh - p4p worst chin in boxing?

Ismayl Sillakh doesn't have beautiful footwork. He bounces too much. He wastes too much energy bouncing about just to do the same attack. Kovalev figured him out and nailed him coming in. His footworks amaturish and unnecessary.

I don't think he's close to having the worst chin in professional boxing. Does he have a great chin? No. But Kovalev landed a loud, crushing right hand on Sillakh's temple that most likely would have KOed anybody, not only that but if you watch carefully, it looks like Kovalev nailed Sillakh with a decent left hook to the chin just for good measure before Sillakh could fall, then on top of that, Kovalev finished him off with another right hand, left hook combination after the discombobulated Sillakh picked himself up from the canvas. Somebody with a truly bad chin IMO is somebody who gets KOed by a jab thrown by a "nobody" i.e. Kimbo Slice.

 

Don't know if it's fair to say Sillakh has the worst chin in boxing....Kovalev has knocked out some decent fighters lately in a short amount of time. I honestly favor Kovalev in a fight against Stevenson to be honest because I think he takes a better punch than Stevenson and is a more intelligent fighter. I hope Sillkh can recover from that KO because I think he's a talented guy.

 

Sillakh's punch resistance was measurable in numbers. It would be a negative number.

honestly, i'd like to see him move up to cruiser and make a run at a belt. the cruiser division is terrible so he'd probably have some success.

I didn't get the same impression, IB, I've seen a couple of his interviews, he can be a bit arrogant but I think you are overstating it somewhat.

Either way, I have nothing against the guy and it's a hard sport, there are few fighters I dislike, but most I wish to succeed and do well. Maybe I shouldn't have said "cool" or whatever but this is what I meant.

 

I love to watch Kovalev fight, he is an heat seeking missile!!! Sikllakh does not have the worst chin in boxing, Kovalev is probably the hardest fighter in boxing for his weight, for sure. Ward is afraid of him, so is Stevenson...........

Sillakh had an excellent amateur record and had only one pro loss............it was considered a 50/50 fight in Russia/Ukraine..............
