Will Pascal take it? Massive risk for Jean! he loses and he's left in who needs him club at LHW. Whoever wins then becomes Mandatory for Hopkins. Hopkins vs Dawson rematch has also been ordered. This is the fight Sillakh has been waiting for, he says he's ready and may be the man to take over the LHW division in 2012. Sorry if already posted but this fight's a great match up for 2012. Massive fight but as mentioned not sure if it will be made. Its a tough fight to take but would certainly love to see it.
I'm sure Silakh would pen the contract, i'm not sure it's what Pascal will want. I don't expect Hopkins to rematch Dawson i can see him dropping title and Pascal squaring off with Dawson for vacant title.
Unfortunately I agree with those who consider it unlikely. Pascal's already a historical footnote in the career of Hopkins, would he be willing to risk taking another massive hit to his legacy? Losing to a prospect(granted, an excellent one at that) would probably see the end of him as a top level operator, I'd imagine he'd take a more calculated test, probably wait around for a potential Dawson return. That said I'd jump at the chance to see it. I don't believe it to be the formality many seem to think.
How you mean in terms of Sillakh beating Pascal?. I tend to agree if that's what you mean. Even B-Hop had to adapt to speed and lack of rhythm of Pascal who just fights in sporadic ambushes especially early.
Yeah, probably should've specified there, my bad. Seems that most people here(at least those that I've seen anyways) have Syllakh taking it pretty clearly. Perhaps I'm reading it wrong and it's like the Agbeko-Mares 1 build-up thread where the majority picked Mares but acknowledge how close it was. I think Pascal's getting slept on a bit because B-Hop beat him, a lot of people forget just how close that fight was. Syllakh's been flavour of the month for, well, the last few months really, I think some peeps have neglected just how hard a task this will be for him, if indeed it happens. Pascal's not exactly an ideal style to introduce a guy to the highest level, a guy that quick, athletic and awkward will, for me, certainly present Syllakh with a helluva lot to ponder. Pascal's unpolished and inconsistent, but he's dangerous nonetheless. Great match up, IMO.
Yeah agree with this, I've never seen anyone do what Pascal did to Hopkins early in first fight, as you say people forget that. I'm not sure it's really what Jean wants though as Ismayl isn't really the name/money he needs on record as of yet and may play that card but fair play if he takes it on. It be a fantastic match up, You can make cases for either man winning.
Wonder if Silakh is ready yet? Also, how good is his chin? Heard he got stopped a couple of times in the amatuers.
Pascal is a nice guy and works hard, but Sillakh should figure him out after a few rounds and adjust to Pascals sporadic leaps into range. Sillakh on points, and then he 'll outpoint B-Hop.
