Ismayl Sillakh would beat Cleverly right now imo

Silakh is better pure and simple. Not digging at Clev but it's the truth. First time i saw the lad fight i thought he was the goods.

It's just getting him more active and i'm sure in due course he will reign as a world champion.

It just shows the difference having a good promoter has. One is fighting for a strap while the other is fighting Uganda's finest.

 

Yep, thought he was class from when I saw in take apart Daniel Judah.

He seems to have it all, hopefully that chin is solid as well. Don't think it's being tested yet.

 

Yeah exactly it's strange how one becomes a world champion and really hasn't fought a world class or good talent yet. While the other fought a talented fighter in Despaigne. But in some ways it's a good thing i believe Silakh's longevity at the top will be better because he will have encountered better opposition on rise to top.

I always believe it's ok getting to top but once you become the hunted it's a different game. So much to contend with on many levels.

I would agree with this. Syllakh looked very good against Judah too. I think Cleverley is the type of fighter who wont realise his potential until after he loses. Does silly things, which in fairness make him more exciting but it also makes him more likely to lose. That left hand the pole landed Saturday buzzed Clev and the Pole was a non puncher. I think Cleverley is far better than Bellew but if someone like Bellew landed that shot would Clev recover? And Syllakh is on a totally different level to Bellew. Also I think Clev needs to ditch his dad. Its a bad sign when a fighter talks more in the corner than the trainer and Clevs been doing that his past number of fights. His dads afraid to lay down the law, took Powell to do it in his fight before last. Even Saturday after getting caught with that silly punch and fighting the wrong fight his dad just smiled nervously and laughed " little bit careless Nathan but its alright " its as if he doesnt want to upset him

 

Which means we're also the first ones pulled through the street having tomatoes thrown at us if it all goes tits up. :yep

 

Yeah but to be fair WBO level is not necessarily fighting world class opponents every week level. Sadly.

 

Unless your promoter is Frank Warren and you hold the WBO belt...
