This isn't a thread to talk bad about him or anything, in fact, I really enjoy watching him fight and even though Vargas/Mayorga absolutely shouldn't be on PPV, I'm still probably going to buy it just to see Mayorga fight. It just really amazes me how far he has made it in boxing though. He has absolutely no technical skills at all, smokes, and drinks beer, yet he knocked out Andrew Lewis to get a belt and then knocked out Vernon Forrest who was pretty much recognized at the PFP best at the time to unify and he came close to beating Spinks and would have had a draw if it wasn't for the deducted points. I can't believe how far he got when all he does is come forward, blocks punches with his head, and throws the most obvious telegraphed looping punches you've ever seen. He's not winning too many fights anymore but he's still putting asses in seats and gets the big fights now because of his "don't know what he'll do next personality." I don't know, his whole situation just interests me that's all.
With Mayorga it's his persona that sells not his ability.That said,I will buy his fight with the Fat Boy Vargas.Two over the hill dudes slugging it out.:good
well, he can punch like hell, had a great chin..........and also knocked out a p4p fighter in forrest. plus his crazy persona............NO WONDER HE IS A STAR!!!! i mean what more do you need??
