All these fans say Calzaghe beat Hopkins when he was old and past it, when Hopkins was Ring LHW champ and had just come off 2 wins over Tarver and Wright. Calzaghe at 36 beats 43 year old Hopkins who was champ (so I dont know how hes past it if hes still champ) and all these fans discredit the win. Dawson 25 beats 39 year old Johnson who had 11 losses and 2 draws, in a close fight where Dawson looked like he could be stopped and its hailed as a great win. Later Dawson beats Tarver who was a month off 40 and had lost badly to Hopkins and its once again hailed as a big win and a good win. Isnt it funny that Calzaghe gets little credit for beating a reigning champ 7 years older yet Dawson gets credit for beating a fighter 14 years older with 11 losses and 2 draws and another fighter who was even older than before and he gets credit, yet Calzaghe beat Hopkins who beat Tarver and look at the critism Please explain
the age difference doesn't mean **** it's all about where they were in their careers, some people age better. Since the 2 losses to Dawson Johnson has knocked out Yusaf Mack and is now in line for another title shot which just goes to show that when he fought Dawson he was still in good form and a worthy scalp.
If Dawson doesn't do anything more than beat Johnson and Tarver, I will be greatly disappointed. That being said, he is young still and could still do alot of things.
Nah. Bailey's cool. His motivation isn't hatred. He does have a point about Dawson's recent opposition.
Far from, I think hes a good fighter, its just alot of people critsise Calzaghes victory and ive asked what the difference is, and you cant answer, so I guess it could be you with the hate
Calz beating Hopkins is a much better win than Chad's victories over Tarver and Johnson. Bernard may have been old, but far from shot. Chad kind of had to get those guys out of the way. Next is Pascal which I think will be a good fight.
Thankyou Des. I dont hate Dawson at all, hes a fighter I respect, its just I wonder what the difference is but very few seem to answer
